Maybe. Politics is a skill, and not everyone has a knack for it. It’s dirty, requires compromise, and a willingness to work with your opponents. Or, well, at least it used to.

> Four variants, one axis

Dunno about the font, but the copy on this page is 100% Claude.

In a podman sandbox, using Niri to manage terminal instances.

Yeah. I was going to say. I really dislike Google, but what they did with YouTube (whose acquisition I saw as a mistake at the time) is impressive.

Or, we come up with a system that actually follows the rhythms of nature, rather than forcing a standard schedule year round. Like, I get up later and go to bed earlier in the winter like pretty much every other mammal on the planet, and the 9-5 can shove it. This has nothing to do with clocks changing. Just our patterns changing.

I’d like a single, consistent way to mark time, but that shouldn’t dictate my seasonal schedule and rhythms.

I dislike it very much. It's never what I want, and in the cases where I have it, it generally only gets used accidentally (e.g. when one of my kids pokes the screen). It's not ergonomic for normal use.

In the US, I heard lots of conspiracies about who was really behind the BLM riots, Charlottesville, Jan 6th, the Trump assassination attempts, etc.

The same thing is happening here in the comments. Everyone is looking for the puppeteer. I’m not sure one way or the other.

On the one hand, it’s true that when you look through history, you often find that there was a “someone” (e.g. the Germans funding the Bolshevik Revolution, or the CIA shenanigans in the Middle East and South America).

On the other hand, can’t these things also legitimately arise from disenfranchised groups without needing to point to a boogie man?

I agree with your first statement, but I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying here:

> there’s really no first principles reason for any legitimacy

Do you mean in this case, or are you making a blanket statement about the nature of morality and power?

And, you’d better pin it to inflation, or in 50 years, you’re back to the same granny problem.

More like a temporary market fluctuation or maybe bubble.

Yeah. It's slow on Linux, for sure. I use Foot, which as far as I've tested is the fastest to launch. I use Niri and launch Foot terminals all the time as part of my workflow (it's just how my mind works), so time to launch matters to me.

My former boss at Microsoft told me this sort of thing is a good way to get rid of your best, most employable employees. I guess he didn’t pass the memo up the chain.

More like, I moved from Wallace and Grommit self walking pants back to regular pants.

Image optimization is the only thing in that list I might care about, and every CDN I’ve ever used provides it out of the box.

I was curious what the paste was. According to Brave search AI (whatever LLM that is): The paste used on dried bonito (known as katsuobushi) is made from the fish’s own head and scrapings (called nakaochi), which are mixed with the fish’s own flesh.
