No, it's not wrong or we wouldn't be finding 5K year old instruments underneath melted glaciers as this article's evidence shows. And ice core samples from Greenland and Antarctica support this.

What's most impressive to me is how razor sharp the slate arrowhead they show in the top photo is. I've seen photos of many stone age arrowheads but they are usually much more dull and blunted.

Yes, the early Neolithic was warmer than modern era.

I don't know why you got downvoted, it's true. A lot of screens were touch screen even in the 90s, but they were typically single-touch rather than multi-touch capacitive interfaces. They were used a lot (and still are) in Point of Sale terminals, for example, where an employee needs to stand and ring up sales.

For me, I'm reading more books because my e-reader is with me everywhere I go. The unfolded mode is fantastic for reading. It's obviously great for video too, a nearly 8 inch screen in your pocket is a big upgrade. Honestly it's big enough to comfortably use a terminal app like Termux as well. It's excellent for any note taking app you use. I use Obsidian, having more real estate is really important for long, detailed notes, plus tabs are easier to navigate there and in the browser, which of course also benefits from the bigger screen (most websites look better on bigger screens).

Yeah and OP is incorrect, foldables are a rapidly growing segment in mobile phones. Having used one for over a year, I'm not going back, and had the Duo been out a couple months ago, I probably would have bought that instead of the Fold8.

Foldable phones are a growing segment of the mobile phone industry. The newest iterations of foldables work quite well and I'm quite happy with mine, and I have no desire to go back to a candy bar phone after having one.

I think touch screen Mac is mostly pointless though.

Taxes only apply to net profits. Some trades create losses. At any rate, tax rates vary dramatically by jurisdiction, with some jurisdictions paying zero tax for trading-based profit.

> They are permisionless protocols

No, they are not. You can trade a tokenized stock on top of a blockchain that happens to be permissionless, but you can also fully operate a permissioned protocol on top of a permissionless network. How many permissioned products run on top of TCP/IP (a permissionless protocol)?

Smart contracts enable any sort of logic that you can encode in a Turing-complete software language, including authorization controls, or awaiting offchain KYC checks, or whatever your heart desires.

Memecoins don't have anything to do with real stock, but tokenized stocks trend towards the underlying's price as long as they are redeemable for the underlying in a timely manner.

A BTC is not notional nothing. What determines the value of a thing? The market does. Not you. The market. And the market has determined that BTC has value, and that's been true now for 16 years and counting.

At any rate, to the tokenized stock example, if you are purchasing a tokenized stock represented by a company such as Robinhood, it too is a debt in that the token is exchangeable for the underlying.

This is an even higher level of guarantee than, say, an options contract, in that the reserves are provable. It does, of course, involve trust in the intermediary, just as your bank balance does. But at any rate, this financial technology is an expansion of what isolated databases provide to the market.

No doubt, they are complex and you can't factor for everything, but I suspect that just even a cursory understanding of some broad characteristics across hardware will help you to design faster software when using a low-level language (and to some extent when using higher level languages as well), and your software will probably achieve must faster speeds than focusing on exotic design patterns in your software, for example.

There are plenty of local shops that are large, have plenty of seating, and don't mind you staying for several hours. It's up to the shop to enforce rules if it doesn't want people camping or using laptops or if it wants to require purchase.

And your bank account balance is some meaningless entries in a SQL database
