For me? When I see it. And not a moment sooner.

There are trillions of dollars at stake here, do you think getting 1000 people on board is that difficult with this level of money? lol

No, with TRAMP its a one way thing. The remote side can't wander around the local side at all, at least from my understanding of TRAMP. So it's no the same at all.

Yeah but we are talking about the IPhone not the mac mini!

>Single core performance still worse than an iPhone.

I can believe the core with active cooling can sustain good performance at least, but not in the IPhone.

The IPhone runs on a battery, with no active cooling.

There is no chance the sustained single core perf is better than a 150=200+w ryzen with a big noctua cooler on it. The power draw alone would kill the battery in a few minutes(?), and the heat would make it catch fire. lol

Then explain how equal parameter size models can grow in capability every few months or year?

I'd like to know why I can't use arenas in rust? Especially considering that I have used them before in rust.

Maybe if you have an extremely slow computer?

Even my little chromebook can provide completions and errors effectively instantly to me, even in medium sized rust projects.

Or are you saying (probably maximum) ~20ms delay is blocking your ability to code?

Huh I have had great luck with unsloth quants so far. What issues are you having?

Emacs then? :)

GPUs work on vectors and matrices very often, that's what they are good at, so it makes a lot of sense that they can operate with SIMD I think!

Its baffling to me that people think the brain is somehow "outside" of the universe and somehow "magic" and not tied down by physics just like any other matter is. I don't understand how people come to this conclusion, except in the case of belief in magic or religion (which is belief in magic more or less).

My cgit instance gets hammered so hard that my CPU use is raised to 100% and the entire server grinds to a halt. I have to set a cgroups CPUQuota limit with systemd to make the server usable again.

Also, they hit so hard that nginx returns 502s and times out for real user half of the time, and when the site does load it takes a few seconds to load.

This is all on a high performance single core vultr server, not the cheapest vps but not the fastest, but should be plenty fast enough.

Having user processes killed upon log out seems pretty reasonable to me, and its a configurable option if you don't like it. I don't get the fuss here.

I think it's just popular to dislike systemd, some sort of echo chamber effect or something.

A little bit offtopic, but I spend 12 USD a month for a 1 high performance core, 2GB ram, 50GB NVME SSD VPS, and slap nginx and cgit config on there, and host my own git repos.

I realize this doesn't work for everyone, and not everyone has the money to spare, but it's really nice to be able to host your own stuff on your own website, and not be tied down to a forge like github or codeberg.

Bonus points if you have the hardware and network capacity to host this at home!
