I tried this and it was a huge pain. This works in a small place with a single TV and a single user, past that it's rough.

Running a hdmi cable through walls sucks, you're limited in tenancy (I can't game while wife watches the TV), controlling the pc remotely is annoying, most streaming apps don't support 4k on a pc (same problem with a nuc), I can go on.

This does not pass, or get anywhere close to passing the wife test imo.

I disagree here. Software engineering is a very different form of engineering than something like building a bridge. This has always been true. Even before LLMs, there was a lot of hobbled together code going out there from "real engineers."

I think it's silly to make strong statements like this. _Most_ professional software engineers (women too, not just him!) are using LLMs and are moving some amount of faster as a result.

The Chaparral 2j is one of the most inventive and cool looking cars I've seen.

Not f1, Can-Am but yeah, I'm really surprised this isn't a more common approach to modern track cars. Obviously banned in most motorsport but I'm surprised with all of the one-offs these days that it's not more common.

Serious question, would they bother?

You can work with 10 players that will buy all of them with minimal effort.

I feel like most forums etc. don't accept animated images as an avatar because they are annoying. It's not a technical constraint, it's a UX thing.

This is the thing I mention often.

"Am I arguing against the shuttle loom!?"

Then I realize that the shuttle loom led to the rise of unions because of unfair treatment in factories and realize that we have a _long_ way to go.

Single AZ S3 has other benefits. The point isn't the price, it's that it's _highly performant_ since you can keep all of your reads in the same AZ

Isn't openrouter the exact opposite of caring about security and privacy?

I guess you can choose your provider still? But isn't the point that the lowest bidder is doing inference?

Bedrock is an option. Multiple platforms with solid data sovereignty.

If you don't want them slurping your data, you're gonna have to pay more.

Same as it ever was.

Windows has never felt more archaic than now. I can't imagine trying to do work on a Windows machine in the age of LLMs.

If there is anything that LLMs are rock solid at these days, it's unix terminal usage.
