I canceled my subscription after like 12 years because I realized all the things that made it great aren’t really needed anymore. The “it just works” tooling, refactoring, jumping around code, etc.

Now my agents mainly write code under my direction and I review it either in the harness or on GitHub.

I hadn’t opened it in ages and when I did need an IDE something like Zed was more than sufficient.

Or maybe because the use of GitHub has skyrocketed?

I think you have that backwards. They switched from runc to crun.

I switched to Podman because it’s daemon less (no resources are used unless a container is running) and it doesn’t need to run as root.

Otherwise it’s basically the same and you can continue using your Dockerfiles and Docker Compose files.

Unless you’re doing something really fancy it’s basically a drop-in replacement.

The problem I have with worktrees is that if I want to test the changes I need to juggle the worktrees.

It works better for me if I have multiple copies of the repo with their own supporting environment like repo-a, repo-b, etc. going to app-a.foo.localhost, app-b.foo.localhost, etc.

I’m not sure the only country that has used nukes on people should be the one to decide that

I suspect it’s something similar to the GDPR where the EU passes a law but has very few resources on how to check if you’re actually compliant.
