I think you’d need to attach it directly to Steve, rather than his coffin, if we’re following the allegory of the colloquialism to the letter ;)

Not a Google employee. Last I recall, the only place in Africa that stood to benefit from local infrastructure was South Africa, yet because of how geographically isolated it was from the next nearest hop, latency and packet loss were just intolerable. The latter should be solvable, though the former was dependent on closer neighbors. Same goes for Australia, more or less. I’m curious why there isn’t more demand in Nigeria or Kenya though!

Appropriate last name. So any institution that lies, cheats, and steals their way to top is absolved of all wrongdoing just because they got to the top?

The Florida coast isn't defined by a huge, meandering river. Take a look at some satellite surveys that showcase how the Mississippi River changes over time. We've of course damned up the shorelines upstream where people live in places like New Orleans so there's no inherent seasonal risk of mass flooding, though of course lose the deposited silt and hence further erode the land we've "saved". Further down south toward the mouth, it's marsh land defined by however the river chooses to meander. I'm not sure where exactly SpaceX is planning to setup in LA, but the entire coastline there is chronically very poor, very unpopulated, and not supported to weather flooding of any kind, especially not hurricanes.

Discounting challenges to your beliefs by burying your head in the sand is certainly a choice.

It’s like we’re hot-spotting, but across providers rather than across infrastructure!

Willful ignorance as an excuse didn’t work out too well post-WW2.

What an odd thing to say. Have you traveled internationally much?

One can find an unending supply of complaints when you simply choke the hose. Consider focusing your feedback on how best to use this new revenue stream such that you’re not left filled with anger and disappointment.

A full sentence answer for you: yes.

There’s a big distance between libertarian and liberal societies. The libertarian tendencies of corporations are what tend to cause more harm.

RFC 2822, for the curious :)

It’s been highly valuable. It taught me about undertones, color temperature, 60/30/10 rules, strengths and weaknesses of various countertop materials, load bearing, space planning, power delivery, millwork, lumber quality and cost, HVAC options, building code requirements, ceiling projections and light planning, fixture restoration, exposure to new vendors … should I go on?

You bookmarked those once, surely you meant to go back to them ;)

Really? I have bookmarked:

- 758 posts on home construction and interior design - 487 posts on cooking - 58 posts on relationship health - 605 posts on leadership - 58 posts on fitness - 19 posts on woodworking

, and countless others on travel and dining.

Would you like to restate your claim with more nuance? I have collected a vast amounts of knowledge through TikTok. Their algorithm is insanely good at capturing whatever it is you’re after. It’s a challenge to put the app down and I think any person that can’t impose their own healthy limits or can’t modulate their topical interests is going to have an even harder time. Let’s remember that amidst the real negative aspects, there is a really great system for learning buried in there.
