Michael Kramer and Kate Reading (husband and wife team) are some of the best fantasy narrators available (in my opinion). I would pick up a book I've never even heard of if they're attached to the narration.

I definitely prefer the old buttons.

What I absolutely can't stand is that the horizontal nav at the top isn't in a centered container. I use a wide monitor and the the navbar is slammed all the way to the left while the content is centered with miles of whitespace on either side.

As another poster said with PurgeCSS it isn't bad at all. I'm lucky enough that all my users are internal and we're a Chrome only business so a lot of that cruft can be left out and the speed of the page isn't a large concern.

Prototyping with VueJS and Tailwind on the frontend with Rails on the backend is pretty much my ideal workflow. It's so quick to get a feature done I still surprise myself.

It's definitely going to make it a lot easier than it is now. It's really not bad working with external libraries in Vue. I imagine the way that Bootstrap does it's Javascript will leave you doing a lot inside of Vue's lifecycle hooks (beforeMount, mount, etc).

So happy jQuery is gone! I'm also glad they're moving towards including more utility classes (this started in v4) but I've spent the last year with TailwindCSS and man is it nice. I just bought TailwindUI as well for the component aspect. I think it's going to take some convincing to move back to Bootstrap.

I'll definitely give it a shot on a small project though.

That's why I'm leaning toward TailwindCSS in almost every project. It's just a collection of classes. No prebuilt components, no big decisions being made for you, etc. It feels a bit freeing after 15+ years of CSS.

The hospital charged me $1,700 for 1.5mg of xanax during a 3-day stay. It's utterly ridiculous what they're allowed to get away with.

MacOS for Ruby, Elixir, and VueJS

Clone and run thoughtbot/laptop. Install thoughtbot/dotfiles and then personal dotfiles. Done.

And you can find almost any game you can imagine in the workshop for free. Best part is that some of the complicated games are scripted with Lua so you don't have to worry about setting up the game yourself.

Maybe my group is doing something wrong because Gloomhaven takes up at the VERY least 3-5 hours each time we play. That's only with 1-2 dungeons.

I'm going to say Slashdot as well.

Did Myspace have karma style voting? I don't really remember that.

Also Imgur was BUILT to be an image hosting service for Reddit. Out of the ones on your list it's the youngest service so it definitely wouldn't have been the first in pretty much anything.

This year has been a year of fiction for me. I haven't hit my goal yet but I've got some time still!

Annihilation (Book one of the Southern Reach trilogy) - Jeff Vandermeer

Authority (Book two of the Southern Reach trilogy) - Jeff Vandermeer

Acceptance (Book three of the Southern Reach trilogy) - Jeff Vandermeer

Artemis - Andy Weir

The Breach (Book one of the Travis Chase trilogy) - Patrick Lee

Ghost County (Book two of the Travis Chase trilogy) - Patrick Lee

Deep Sky (Book three of the Travis Chase trilogy) - Patrick Lee

Runner - Patrick Lee

Signal - Patrick Lee

Dark Matter - Blake Crouch

The Atlantis Gene - A.G. Riddle

The Eye of the World (Book one of The Wheel of Time) - Robert Jordan

The Great Hunt (Book two of The Wheel of Time) - Robert Jordan

The Dragon Reborn (Book three of The Wheel of Time) - Robert Jordan

The Shadow Rising (Book four of The Wheel of Time) - Robert Jordan

The Fires of Heaven (Book five of The Wheel of Time) - Robert Jordan

The Way of Kings (Book one of the Stormlight Archives) - Brandon Sanderson

The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien

I'm currently reading Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson. Book two of the The Stormlight Archives.

I'd say the biggest surprises for me would be Patrick Lee. I DEVOURED these books. The Breach, Ghost County, and Deep Sky are a trilogy. They reminded me of X-files crossed with Navy Seals but that doesn't really begin to really describe the books.

I can't believe I got through so much of The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. The first book was so-so but the story really picked up in the second book. I'm getting to the part of the overall story that people say gets tedious and boring but I haven't experienced this at all yet.

I just finished The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson a few days ago. It's definitely one of my favorite books of all-time. It may be my favorite fantasy book but I won't know until I try to re-read it. I re-read The Hobbit every year. I never seem to get sick of it. It's going to be hard to knock this off it's thrown but damn is The Way of Kings close!

This is also the first year I've ever read so many works of the same author over and over. I probably won't do it again next year. Except for maybe Brandon Sanderson and Robert Jordan. I found it was _usually_ harder to get into the writing once I got such a familiar feel of their style and storytelling. This didn't hold true for Sanderson and Jordan they are still blowing me away.

And they're still making shitty videos with the kids that weren't taken away. I think they were pulled off YouTube again and had to start their own site for their content.
