Outside of being money for criminals, there is some value for investors. For them, it is a way for their portfolios to get exposure to the booming criminal economy.

Gonna take a wild guess that this has to do with the purchase of privately (and lawfully) collected bulk data for the purposes of mass surveillance. Who needs PRISM or xKeyscore when people willingly purchase TVs and install weather apps that spy on them 24/7? The open legal question has been whether the government is free to do whatever it wants with the data it purchases.

France has much lower per capita debt and deficit compared to the United States. I find it very funny to hear American media talk about the dire situation of French public finances.

A conspiracy to make the US look bad by being better at producing all the goods and services the world needs at a reasonable price. Have they no shame?

The democrats have shown little desire or ability to reverse GOP foreign policy once they get into power. They normalize those policies and keep the seat warm for the next mad man.

A CLI first, GUI second video editor that can emulate the style of any filmmaker or film you direct at it.

It was surprisingly easy to build.

It's also just a half decent basic video/audio editing suite that works on the desktop.

Without any real privacy laws, Americans should not have the expectation of privacy in private spaces either. Your search history, real time location, biometric data, consumer habits etc. are all for sale to anyone who wants it.

No one seems to ever point out the actual, likely negative outcome of this technology.

It eventually works well enough that these companies are able to capture and divert the wages of hundreds of millions of workers. We end up with a dozen or so trillionaires and massive structural underemployment and unemployment.

That's it. If you can't make rent, you wouldn't really care if CloudFlare got hacked by an AI swarm every Monday.
