I’d love it if instead of being the next FAANG, having worked at an AI company becomes a scarlet letter both in and out of the tech industry. It’s easy to concentrate these issues on founders and execs, but Altman isn’t the one building the beast.

Contributing to these systems beyond this point should be seen as a massive failure of character. Stigmatizing to the point that they have to scrub their socials, lie about work history, and hide it from future friends or partners.

One can dream. Society does not have the integrity for this, unfortunately.

To what end?

“Hey guys, the human condition can be experienced by these machines more efficiently than we are able to! Now we can finally die off!”

Why are we enabling a world that outpaces us? Is this going to lead to anything other than displacement in the long term?

Do you ever stop and ask why we’re building the world we’re building?

To what end does a world we cannot comprehend or rebuild from first principles serve us?
