There is historical precedence. Ernst Röhm was co-founder of the Sturmabteilung and was openl y gay. And Michael Kühnen for a more modern example.

Wasn't that the correct decision? They put a deprecation warning on it to inform people it was unsafe in server context, while also keeping it.

It was unsafe and surprisingly easy to DOS servers using it incorrectly. And by "incorrectly", I mean how a lot of (most?) people used it with user data. An API that happens to be safe by accident when people use it should be deprecated.

The leader can be a lesbian and still far right. They are against gay marriage, against talking about homosexuality in schools. There were gay Nazis, even high up. Röhm for example.

Iirc Weidel herself has made statements regarding how the society should always promote heteronormativity.

That is the saddest part: there is already a fantastic green thread concurrency for dotnet: hopac. F# then got Task {} and people kind of left hopac behind.

ConcurrentML really brought dotnet's concurrency story into the 1990s.

Its amazing they still have emacs on there. The flatpak version is useless for any kind of dev work.

There was a hilarious video in The early days of YouTube when someone tried to write Perl using vistas voice recognition.

I haven't seen it in many many years, but at the time it struck my giggle button every time.

I am a professional bassoon player. I asked about multiphonic fingerings. It could actually suggest corrections for the fingerings that did not work.

The discussion started about "resources to feed the planet". The people most hurt by a lack of resources to feed the planet are not you and I. Framing it as a choice between biodiversity or "eating a lot fewer burgers and steaks" while claiming both is an overpopulation problem is the priviliged position, and saying it is about overpopulation is not going to help anyone.

Which of course is a very priviliged way of looking at the choice. The people most affected are the ones hardly using any resources in the first place.

Her interview with Arvo Pärt (composer) is amazing. She starts off being very Björk, and as a viewer I wondered where this would go. Turns out they live on the same planet, speaking the same language.

Wouldn't it be better multiplying the total of the choices with a random double. That way the random double is always strictly below total and the user isn't bitten by dumb float addition errors?

The only error then is when there are no choices or they set the weights to 0, negative or NaN. I am but a lowly musician though. I can't say I always think floats are simple...

Not really. We feed most of our crops to animals.
