Oh wow. That’s wild.

Trunked is essentially useless to HAMs, and we never really use it much. We have essentially everything that trunking was meant to solve for a company; large pre-authorized spectrum space, self-coordination in that space without having to get fcc involved. Use of 25khz FM where part 90 is now only 12.5 also is enabled by being a ham.

I’ve learned that people on this site don’t understand cannabis very well.

Exceedingly close to zero people are at risk no matter how severe my mistake, because I build things that don’t carry risk.

I installed Ubuntu for many people in their 80s. Give her some time with FF, you don’t have to remove chrome, just hand her FF. I bet she does just fine.

Sheriffs are elected, and wholly part of the state govt. Cops can be more easily coerced by fed enforcement.

The author has not seemingly considered the vastly different networking in wasm. You don’t have networking. There is an entirely different utility in these environments, containers are meant to host applications, wasm is an application. Don’t even get me started on disk access, env handling, etc. wasi is great, for the places it does well. It is not a replacement for writing a pure golang/rust/c/julia app and running it in a container, it doesn’t have the facilities for that task.

Only if you expect them to play by the rules. They have indicated they do not wish to do that.

State subsidies. China will happily make up a loss for a company if it can take dollars away from US corporations.

Building a homebrew interposer is truly impressive.

How is being happy with someone’s job performance celebrity culture?

Many people, millions of us, care very deeply about his legacy of shame and regret.

That’s not what this says.

I have been using the Quest 3 for work for a month and a half now, daily driving it as a trio of monitors for 6-10 hours a day. So far, no major complaints, but maybe we should start wanting for focus distance adjustment, 4 foot may not be ideal all day. I’d like to be able to bring focus in a few inches and out a foot, so that I can at least vary where my eyes are sitting all day, but outside of that I am very excited for whatever the quest 4 will be, because that will likely be a big enough leap from where we are now to be compelling for even more general usage as a computer instead of an “interface” device like they are now.

100%. Talos is wonderful.
