Hi there, my name is [insert name here] and I am a programmer who specializes in making logic errors. I have been writing code for many years now and have become quite proficient at creating logical errors in my programs. While this may not seem like a desirable skill, I have found that my ability to create logic errors has actually helped me to identify and fix errors in other people's code. In my free time, I enjoy reading up on the latest programming techniques and learning new ways to make logic errors even more effectively. I am excited to be a part of the Hacker News community and look forward to sharing my knowledge and experiences with others.

I’m at step 0—asking “This site is awful, is this AI?”

I should have gleamed it from the visual design language, but it was the writing that clued me in.

I think juleiie is AI generated.

Isn't this the pervert trying to record me in when I am changing in the locker room?

Hard pass.

That's right. It's not skill. It's technique.

And there are techniques that make it brain dead simple.

I think we're just in an transition point.

When I get materials that are clearly AI generated, I look at them as if there was less effort put into it.

But that is irrational. If it was verified for accuracy, and edited for conciseness, and addresses the task at hand, does it matter?

I exclusively take notes by hand now, and have amassed a pretty interesting collection of pens, paper and notebooks.

The company that helps connect kids with the adults who want to harm them is having a hard time replacing humans? Shocking.

1: true. 2: that someone else has to get approval for the cost

And AI is the reason why developers are being laid off.

Don't trust a fox to count your chickens.

I guess the days of engineers getting to be so casual about memory footprint and CPU cycles is over.

Not OpenAI’s fault that the cost of a shipping container doubled.

I collect fountain pens which have nothing to do with the data center market and the big 3 Japanese makers announced pretty substantial price hikes.
