TMZ is and has always been a trash publication.

However, they have always been remarkably factual. They always verify everything they publish is true.

This was also true and widely known back in 2013.

Back in the early days of SO, around 2009 or maybe 2010, I asked a Motif question. I got told that I I was an idiot and I shouldn't be using Motif because it was obsolete, how dare I ask a question about it? Blah blah blah.

Yeah, no shit nobody uses Motif for new development, but if you haven't guessed, I was working on a legacy enterprise system.

Just rubbed me the wrong way and still kinda annoys me to this day. Not everyone is dicking around for fun or works at startups where you can light other people's money on fire. Some of us have paying clients, I'm not using Motif because I want to.

You just unlocked memories I have of playing with a typewriter as a kid. A big big clunky one. Hitting those keys would be so satisfying. I didn't have an ink ribbon, so no actual typing happened, just hitting those big ass keys.

This was before computers were common.

In a video Ann Reardon, a popular Australian YouTuber, tested a vintage hand-cranked stand mixer invented in Australia. She explained the context of a hand cranked stand mixer - that rural homes in Australia didn't have electricity until well into the 1960s.

A lot of people spend more on housing because standards have greatly increased. The average square footage of living space per person has doubled since the 1970s and tripled since the 1950s. A modest home in 2020s was a luxury house in the 50s. Families have gotten smaller and houses have ballooned.

Even when I was a kid in the 1980s I didn't know a single person whose household had multiple bathrooms, a dishwasher, or air conditioning. Not a single one.

Part of the reason why standards have increased is because incomes have increased.

Wow, you seem shockingly blasé about a fire inside the walls of your house!

Just because the fire didn't spread doesn't mean it didn't have the potential to, or either you or the firefighters knew if it did or not without the emergency response.

I don't think you need to "catch up," every Zelda game is self-contained. Also, it's a remake of a game you already played, so you already know the story. If anything, coming in fresh would be a benefit.

Idk why we can't enjoy Zelda games for what they are - each game has recurring core cast, similar mythological archetypes & thematic motifs, and similar gameplay, but are all independent of each other. Even the games that are direct sequels to each other are still very independent.

Can you tell us what the twist is, please? Just mark it clearly as a spoiler so people who don't want to be "spoiled" can skip your comment.
