Presumably it depends on the exact model and when the encounter took place, since I’m sure the devs are constantly working on behavior.

This will work for approximately a year until ablated open weights models catch up, and then it will be open season. My 2c is that we need to figure out reputation systems that are resilient to low effort cloning rather than try to prevent it, because the latter approach is a non-starter outside of a very short time horizon.

Direct democracy is a thing. If your municipality doesn’t implement it you can certainly agitate for it to be implemented. It is not without its downsides.

FWIW I think it is a big assumption on your part that the allowance of delivery robots is a show of “incompetence”. You may not like them but I think a lot of people find them nifty.

At least in my state it doesn’t matter if people can go around you. If you’re there to intentionally obstruct human or vehicle traffic on a sidewalk, you are guilty of disorderly conduct. Doesn’t matter whether you’re standing still, moving, blocking the whole sidewalk or just part of it. What matters is your state of mind and purpose.

Police can definitely order you to stop obstructing a public right of way.

You vote for the representatives and the representatives decide what they think optimizes for their value function (some mix of getting elected again, what they think is best, what they think the aggregate want, etc.). Don’t like it, elect new representatives. What other way is there to do it?

If it were trivial to find buyers, wouldn't that be a sign that they priced the debt too low? It should be just hard enough to find buyers that your lost sales are less than the extra price you are able to extract to the sales you make.

Opus 5.5 was able to parse and understand an ASCII art foot when I pasted one in.

If the FTC weren't investigating three of the largest and fastest growing companies in the country for one thing or another, it would be kinda surprising to me.

That's weird. I got 3.8 and 3.7 on the days they were released. https://imgur.com/a/Xu4wRLM (this is on gemini.google.com, but the same is true of the iOS app and the desktop app).

From the charts, it's similar in intelligence and cost per task to both Opus 5.5 (high) and 6-Astra (max). It would be better if it were more intelligent and less expensive, but I don't see a reason to expect it to have better performance than models released around the same time.

Soft wearable baby carriers are not heavy.

Nobody is going to survive a crash where a 3 lb soft wearable baby carrier is travelling at a high enough relative speed to do any damage.

If god would allow the creation of an unaligned superintelligence, how aligned is he really?

The way to make money in this business right now is to make the absolute best product and convince everyone they need to use your thing, especially considering the training cost is a very large factor in the overall costs and you amortize that by selling inference.
