Qwen3.8-27B runs at 59.5 tok/s on my M4 Max, 40-core GPU, 128 GB

I use it occasionally for classification and other tasks but I wouldn't trust those smaller models with the real work and for larger data processing it's too slow, e.g. a dataset I wanted to classify would've taken 56 days on my laptop vs just paying the cheap Luna prices to openai and getting it done in a few hours.

Honestly I have no idea what you are even replying to. My comment was essentially "The fund bet big and lost, but don't read it as him going bankrupt" as I saw many people interpret it that way.

I find the emotional charge in your message quite strange, and the "psychosis" might be you projecting something.

Nothing I wrote implies that I don't understand that distinction. What I'm saying is that despite this implosion he is still up ytd, so this liquidity crisis shouldn't be interpreted as him/his fund going bankrupt as many seem to want to read it.

>Even including July's losses, the fund remains up about 80% on the year

Spectacular blowup and a lesson on leverage, but let's not miss this line.

you can use https://github.com/cyberjunky/python-garminconnect to pull your data from garmin, I've been using it daily with no issues

Yeah, as opposed to the very pleasant living by the side of a steel mill and an oil refinery.

What is myopic is chasing social media "evil of the month" trends, instead of looking at the actual data.

>or with a doubling time of 5.8 years

So that in ~6 years they will account for 1%, and still a fraction of the percent of the world total energy use?

Comment · 3 months ago
Yeah, data-centers are definitely the worst thing happening to the planet. You got your priorities straight.

AI data centers are what, half a percent of the world electricity consumption, if that, and an even smaller fraction of the total energy?

+1 to the op. This is one of the first things I thought about after using it for a few minutes. I have a large collection of local knowledge bases that I use through codex, having this real time thing be able to plug into it would be the killer feature, otherwise the utility is severely limited. I don't want to talk to it about the weather, I want to brainstorm about the things I am working on, which it currently knows nothing about.

>there is some truth about these memory stocks eventually reaching trillion dollar market caps

What do you mean "eventually"?
