What’s the whataboutism re: Kent State? My point is the average Chinese citizen cares about Tiananmen about as much as the average American cares about Kent State, which is to say not at all.

I guess we can continue to be fascinated by it and Chinese citizens can continue to look at us weird when we speak about it like it’s the secret to immortality or something.

I guess if the police murder me, I’ll feel… better that a chatbot can tell someone about it? Moral superiority achieved I suppose.

We have such a weird fascination with Tiananmen, like it’s some sort of big gotcha. You can ask actual Chinese citizens and they know about it, and care about it about as much as an American citizen cares about the Kent State massacre.

Shaing Yi-Chaing and Liang Mong-Song have some serious beef from the past and they disagreed about SMIC’s direction. Liang made SMIC choose and SMIC chose Liang.

Your spamming of HN on a single topic and submission/comment history strongly suggest your interest is pushing an ideological agenda.

Also from the guidelines: Please don't use Hacker News for political or ideological battle. That tramples curiosity.

Hacker News Guidelines

What to Submit On-Topic: Anything that good hackers would find interesting. That includes more than hacking and startups. If you had to reduce it to a sentence, the answer might be: anything that gratifies one's intellectual curiosity.

Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. Videos of pratfalls or disasters, or cute animal pictures. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.

What is your obsession with China? I swear every China post on here is from you OP.

Will the year of the Linux desktop or China's housing collapse happen first?

Does anyone have an opinion on LangChain versus Deepset Haystack?

Haystack seems more polished for NLP tasks, but LangChain looks more extensible long term?

Thanks!

One of the best life hacks is never get the last word in on Reddit.

Yeah, but no one likes to get moral lectures from hypocrites. We Americans sure do like self-determination, just not for anyone else.

"Permanently prevented" -- semi manufacturing is an engineering problem, not magic. Engineering problems can be solved, unless you think Chinese people are inherently inferior engineers.

I volunteer you to go fight in Taiwan to "humiliate the CCP".
