I'm using Xymon ( example: https://www.xymon.com/servers/servers.html ). I found it didn't take much work to add a client to the monitor and the default set of reports was enough.

There's supposed to be an OSX client, but I haven't used it.

One day I got a cheap-ish NAS then used beets [1] to organise and copy all the music on my computer to it, listening to it with Banshee[2] over the network.

Then I got Spotify and don't bother much with it anymore...

You'd have trouble finding someone willing to do most of the work of writing a game and especially the artwork.

You're in luck though! The game is popular enough that someone else has had the idea of writing a clone:

Hmmm... Adblock Edge ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-edge/ ) with one of the privacy filter lists ( https://easylist.adblockplus.org/en/ ) would do in that case.

I'm actively trying not to spend too much time reading other people's opinions on the internet these days, it's such a time sink and you do come away with such a negative opinion of the world.

But I'll go through the comments if it's a subject I'm interested in and the comments are constructive or add to the original link. Often I've noticed a pattern where the largest discussions start with a comment along the lines of "This article is wrong because ..." and the reply "<quote from above comment> No, it's not because ...". That's a sign to just close the tab.

I have Greasemonkey and the "Hacker News collapsible comments" script installed:

I do recommend that for an improved HN procrastinating experience.

I use "Adblock Edge" as an alternative. It's basically a fork of adblock plus but without the "acceptable ads" feature.
