I've also found, as the model context gets larger, my work to supervise increases.

Like a see-saw - we just need that balance, man!!!

something i've noticed: internet is different from TV in the amount of text on screen, even simply ads and interfaces is a lot of text.

I'd be interested to know if this makes children "text-blind" and relates to increased struggles with reading and writing as they get older. It seems a theme in 6-10 year olds from teachers at the moment.

And migrating from one system-model to another is an additional system-model - the building of which is an even rarer skillset.

surely, you mean matching production to demand?

That's the way our system has developed for millennia.

maybe bookmarks and things didn't scale, but The Algorithms can be self-hosted. We just haven't developed the tools.

That's a crazy stat. In the UK, 53% of people are net recipients - about 2M people! (https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/personal...)

State dependents - either benefits/welfare or employed - have a very different experience of the economy than others; the disconnected work/pay relationship.

The disconnect between income and effort is causing people to have warped priorities, which, ultimately, results in inflationary economics and impoverishment.

I'm building a simple model inference platform: https://marigold.run

Seems everyone is building an inference platform lately, but this one is mine! And I'm enjoying it...!

With new tools (i.e., LLMs) it feels like software engineering is moving to an assembly process.

The best engineers will have an awareness of overall problem, architecture, how pieces should fit together and what changes when the fits are made.

The top-tier will be able to adjust components, and identify gaps which can be filled by newly created, but properly shaped components to create new emergent properties from the combinations.

This has always been a requirement, but intertwined with the expression of the vision by coding. Are those two things really separate? I don't think people can be architects without coding, but I'm an old man with old ideas!
