The machines were supposed to save us time and make our lives easier which initially they did, but instead that time got filled with other things to do for someone else.

People said this when self checkouts came to supermarkets, "i refuse to use them so that people stay in employment" within a few years most are self checkout and very few lanes left for staff to supervise on normal checkouts (mostly for elderly or disabled). Both remained but the weight went towards more people going through self checkouts (even if the other lanes take more space);

My point is that people can resist training it, but someone else will.

If someone hates something doesnt mean that the other thing is good, thats a bizarre assumption. Im all for GDPR but has it helped stopped our data truly getting out? No just look at social media companies using subversive tactics.

Possibly blocking it from pressure from his own community that it might be used against them? Similar to how Birmingham CCTV cameras were blocked by certain members of the communities in Birmingham as they thought they were spying on them.

Anyway its a conflict of interest that a Mayor that is not a technocrat decides what software the Police uses. Seems so wrong.

For those who are not that old, when cigarettes were mainstream there were many scientists (or business backed science) telling people that smoking was healthy. Then they decided to change tact when it became obvious it was causing lung disease.

Kinda pointless the government looking muscular on this when the real issue has moved on anyway to vaping, access to weed etc. The industry lobbying wont come after the govt anyway so no blocks right, as they are getting profit from elsewhere

Supplying high grade explosives and ammunition was seen as a way to profit from potential conflict, which eventually made the Shogun wary of their presence.

There is nothing surprising about this, nor the fact that a western news outlet doesn't understand local culture. The levels of security required in India is much higher.
