Yeah the camera seems to better which could be deciding to some people. But while the base storage has increased the price did too, so a base 265gb might cost the same as an upgraded one from 128gb.

I've done some research and am considering as well, though I might wait for the motorola phones to release. Have you encountered apps that didn't work? Like banking and stuff seems to break a lot of the time.

Sideloading has always been allowed, and that new "advanced flow" is something entirely decided by the OS so I don't think it has or will have any effect with GrapheneOS use.

It's actually recommended to get least of your apps as possible via the play store and use 3rd party stores if you are going for maximum privacy or de-googling.

GrapheneOS themselves said it wasn't worth getting the 11 over the 10 on Twitter. It has a worse GPU and less RAM, and the increase in CPU speed is so negligible that often you end up with better performance using the previous generation. In addition, GrapheneOS isn't even available on 11 series devices yet.

Their chip release cycle doesn't make any sense to me. Compared to their other hardware like iPhones or Apple Watches they just release a new chip when they feel like it. It might have a pro, ultra, or max version, or it might not. Sometimes that better version only releases when the next generation of the silicon is already out. I think that they really need some structure in their releases.

'People prefer models that are as good or better at a lower price, what a surprise!'

Look at the bright side, if it starts to get really overused then maybe the other platforms like LinkedIn will start stripping them too.

Sometimes I feel like 75% of their engineers are working on stuff that is purely for show. If their product doesn't generate enough profit very short term they stop it immediately. They have hunderds of cancelled projects, and those are only the ones which have existed. I wonder how many things they made internally and killed before ever showing it publicly.

You can't, and it's one of the biggest problems when trying to use AI for anything.

It's true however I do feel that when talking about scams AI can be used offensively way easier. Using it for things like the prevention of phone scams seems quite a bit more difficult to me to get accurate.

Yeah but these MacBooks run MacOS, which is a fully fledged desktop OS compared to ChromeOS which looks and feels a lot more like Android and lacks features in some areas.

yeah i forgot about their linux capabilities they got. In my mind they didn't seem a lot different than simple android tablets with a keyboard but indeed if the hardware isn't bad it could be valid option now I think about it.

It would be hell being forced to use these things for your job. What departments were? Because I can't imagine a software developer using one.

Believe me, you don't want a NAS at a chromecast level. Chromecasts are designed to be user friendly and hide a lot of settings. That wouldn't be a problem if the things worked at least. I can't even count how many times I've had to reset a chromecast because something broke and wasn't fixable.

A casual user would never buy a NAS at all, since most prefer the ease of something like iCloud or Google. If you buy a NAS you often have a specific reason to (too much data, needing to be able to reach a speed to work off of it, security...) and then the fiddeling becomes an advantage I feel. Yes it's a bit more effort, but you can get something that actually does what you want to instead of what the manufacturer thinks that you want it to do.
