I like the approach, but infinities can be counter intuitive. See Cantor, Dedekind. The problem is your experiment. We don't say "there are N reals between 0 and 1", we talk about cardinality. The sets (0,1] and (1,3] in R1 don't have "the same number of items" in them; they have the same cardinality.

The ghost in the machine and the limits of understanding . A bit wider than linguistics but a great talk and intro to his style of prose

Contributions to charities can reduce taxable income up to 50% (of amount) for the donor. For foundations this figure maxes out at 30%.

Please elaborate on the limitations and paths! I'm doing technology selection research and EF Core is currently on the table, would love to hear what you encountered.

the first pass is usually an algorithmic digest. the human element is required to recognize a subset of all transactions as requiring further analysis. some transactions require special consideration in either tax or reporting contexts. if every accounting system were a relational database, and every entry had multiple foreign keys to every appropriate classification, we could virtually eliminate CPA's. as it stands each accounting system is bespoke and idiosyncratic. some of them record transactions on sheets of paper.

This would require unique time dilation regimes depending on your latitude - i.e. clocks on this regime would no longer track with an atomic clock

The way forward might be a synthesis of competing systems / approaches. For instance we could use neoliberal capitalism as a starting point, and (as a society) devote serious resources to addressing harmful effects caused by things like rent seeking and regulatory capture.

Arch is the first system I have been able to support, fully. As in, 100% of the issues I run across with my distro, I can resolve. I used to run Ubuntu as my gnome desktop distribution, and when it worked (99% of the time), it was a superior experience to Arch. However when running Ubuntu I would inevitably run across some issue that seemed to require a level of sysadmin chops that I never have possessed. For the past year I've been running an Arch desktop, I have resolved every issue by using the Arch wiki and Google/ stack overflow. I suspect that partly, the Arch approach is appealing to those of us who prefer a simpler system, because those are easier to grapple with in a support context.

I thought copyright in GPLv2 kicks in once someone is linking? I saw Linux Kernel, bash, awk mentioned; but if these were compiled into binary assets without any code from the TV, then isn't Vizio entitled to sell these TVs without disclosing their own source code?

Below is the CV of most of the authors / contributors.

I could only find one person with a technical background that is at least computing-adjacent.

(I didn't produce this research, I commissioned it, so there may be factual errors.)

First this gave me a belly laugh, then about 10 seconds later it gave me an anxiety about when working from home ends.
