have you tried to purchase a device with RAM or a GPU in the last two years?

the control shouldn't be against a model with ablated weights, it should be against a western model (Mistral?)

it doesn't seem like there's an abundance of shovels coming anytime soon

The “obviously” here is puzzling. It is certainly obvious this would be better but it is not at all obvious how to do so.

This many levels of irony and insincerity and condescension just seem... not very useful? Why did you want me to read this?

It seems like a very lazy attempt to rebut the reasons. In particular:

"In this situation it isn’t the technology that takes the job, it’s the mode of production. And given that programming is intellectual work, the means of production is literally our heads, we ought to be able to seize those."

The word 'ought' is doing so much heavy lifting here...

The problem is that there is no out-of-band mechanism for update like other devices.

If your CA certs are bad on your mobile application, you can push an out-of-band update via the device's app store.

If your CA certs are bad on a website you access via your browser, the means of updating them is... the browser. You can't get new certs without using a TLS connection you didn't want to trust anyway.

I think flipping the tiling between light and dark on the top left and the bottom right (or vice versa) would make more sense. Then bishops stay on one color and the knight always alternates between colors (like 2d chess)

i have learned a lot of interesting facts about haskell and lisp from this post. those facts make me want to run screaming away from trying to use either of them to develop software. My time with Haskell made me a better programmer and I bet that LLMs made some of the documentation more intelligible, but...

I would guess they are pricing them higher because the clientele are probably paying more.

What is the normal rent for a small room of that size in Ginza?

The finances of these metros rarely incorporate road costs; their accounting does not require them to incorporate the future liability for infrastructure maintenance and so everything looks good until they need to redo the roads.

Size or strength both depend on a ton if protein. I don’t know what your objection is.

I don’t think google should be held responsible for “breaking” this. It was crazy that one website got to see what i was doing on a second completely unrelated website.
