But sounds like Opus and GPT are interchangeble for your case.

I think root is precisely what most of these apps are trying to avoid. They think (at least the finance app I used to work for thought) that with root, user credentials the app stored would be accessible by whatever uses those root permissions and they didn't want the risk

My way of thinking is that if I can only manage my money through your app, I'm not givig you my money

If I remember correctly in their newsletter they mentioned that they will, as it was unavoidable. But I'm talking from memory, that email is long gone from my inbox.

the problem I had with Curve is that this privacy policy is a bit trash, and their DPO was unresponsive when I tried to exercise some of my GDPR rights

One of the things I find most amusing is that Movistar is both one of the main football diffusion corp, and one of main national ISPs. So Movistar sued itself so that it can block the parts of the internet that they don't like

My Sony cost well over 1k, yet it came with crapware and got more enshittified as time went on.

IMO the fundamental principles and "conflicts" are still the same, but many have forgotten about them with all the hype and sense of speed. The industry will slowly rediscover them.

If this means their awful "service", which has caused so much harm, ends up closing down, the world will be a little bit better

> Public as in being visible to all is not the same as public as in allowing use by all

Where's the limit of that? Can I have port 443 open with a website behind it but sue anyone that accesses it because the fact that it being visible doesn't mean that I allow anyone to access it?

In which ways does GOS not let you control your device? I'm curious because to me intalling GOS felt very liberating (compared to stock)

I'd say most subscribers to the channel want to watch his snarky ramblings as they are entertaining. I'd say the information provided is secondary to the format and personality.

I for instance don't subscribe because I want to know about old toasters, christmas lights and the internal combustion engine. If that was the case, I'd subscribe to channels specific to that topic. I subscribe to Technology Connections because I like his videos, and if I learn a thing or two along the way, that's a nice extra

I use the Street Complete app, which shows missing data around me. It's fun and satisfying to add many details that no other map has, like accessibility of crosswalks or street lighting.

Sorry for the tangent, but how does Qwen3.8-flash-next compare to DeepSeek v4 Flash? I still haven't found the time to set it up, but I'm really happy with DeepSeek v4 Flash

What offends me the most is how they used visitor's compute and badnwidth for ther own purpose unrelated to the reason the visitor accessed the site, without consent or disclosure. It's MY computer, MY internet, not yours to do with it what you please

I completely agree. And I'd say that at least in my case, it applies to both writing prose and code
