Much happier with Cap for screencast recording https://github.com/capsoftware/cap
probably walk away to whatever the second best option Copilot …
my speculation- i would surprise if Claude will win the deal back over time. however the longer Copilot and Deepseek or whatever stays the less like the reverse win is possible
when this happened PR rate dropped 95% in the first day, thousands devs, managers started to panic and downscaling all AI first intiatives and cap 500 usd a month token usage . most tokens were burned in the first day of the week.
as management got pissed, M$ people managed to sneak in and sell Copilot with up 600 usd a month token usage per dev …
devs and devops are now the most unhappy about models switch and probably haven’t seen the impact of sucking entire code base in copilot. copilot is too slow for them too. addiction to claude code is clearly present. using personal software licenses and unauthorised soft is strictly forbidden
story is clearly not over yet ..
as for myself, i’m ready to pay up to 1k usd a month … if if … claude gives the edge… but if it becomes commodity im gone next day
very curious what other devs in corporations are experiencing. deep inside cheerleading for 2 tie token ecosystem - full price for corporations and subsidized for small shops and indie
as for skills, did similar research 3 months ago, and couldn’t find anything comprehensive …
except this link https://github.com/leonardomso/rust-skills/tree/master/rules
ended up asking claude for code review 3 time and logging best practices in markdown gives compound effect
as a heavy temporal.io user i was never really bothered with async tokio rust gotchas

python libs written in rust under hood is a good source of rustish domain specific best practices too … if you are ok to see lot of “unsafe” code and clever tricks

Comparison with GeoPandas
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! GeoPandas — and its underlying libraries of shapely and GEOS — is an incredible production-ready tool.
GeoPolars is nowhere near the functionality or stability of GeoPandas, but competition is good and, due to its pure-Rust core, GeoPolars will be much easier to use in WebAssembly.
Discover a very good niche for Rust - geo spatial analytics. Would not do it Go or Python. LLMs gave a huge boost to Rust too. Claude produce a very high code ... if designed right. Lot of feature complete libraries now.
Both will do fine
the pain point presented correctly especially comparison … but what about remedy?

I do have lot of hardforked packages, and dont want to look back. Everything just works.
If you confused by the naming, start from Oxlint https://oxc.rs/docs/guide/usage/linter Rolldown https://rolldown.rs/
Did very little changes to tsconfig during past 6 months adoption
My day-to-day process - get the new package unless it some antd6, echart or some rendering engine or geo spatial lib, clean up with Claude, strict and unify type system and align it with my vite, tsconfig, oxlint tastes. The result - no need to follow libs bloat and supply chain attack issues. Easy to read, easy to fix.
