It's also enough to get the people who decided to do this fired.

Yes, most employees have labor rights, even if they're not in a union. Check out:

Who knows if it could help, but you might want to contact the NLRB.

Mostly, though, I wish you luck finding a decent job. That company sounds awful.
But for some reason this announcement still feels like a loss to me. It's probably my aversion to all those SF people who rave about Blue Bottle, but get drinks that drown out the coffee flavor with milk and sugar.
But it'll probably work out for the best.
However, it doesn't change the fact that tuition is almost $47k/year, which is just a staggering amount of money for most families. And that's before room and board, etc. Forcing someone to cram four years of college into three to save 20% on $240k+ isn't especially helpful.

(That website hasn't been updated yet to reflect the changes made by this new law.)
I can't tell you how liberating this was. For years I had felt that I just didn't understand poetry, but Prof. Booth told us that poems are just candy for the mind. All the rest is just pretense. And he meant it too.
The final paper was a eight-page analysis of the last four lines of Paradise Lost. So you'd take the phrase, "The world was all before them," and you'd see that this line suggests several meaning to the reader. E.g., the world (God's creation) was complete before Adam and Eve; or that the world (the entirety of human history) was in front of Adam and Eve; etc.
More than anything, he taught poetry as a kind of game. It was so much fun.
The last class was truly great--he did a close reading of the children's book Go, Dog. Go!. So entertaining. Sadly I don't have my notes anymore, but you should search for other people's write-ups of the Go, Dog. Go! lecture online. It's honestly one of the top five lectures I've ever seen.
It's funny how some classes stay with you over the years.
Why does notice matter? It doesn't excuse infringement if the (R) is missing. However, if you infringe on a trademark, damages are due from the date that you know or should know that the mark is registered. So if you register a mark for your obscure brand of shoe trees or whatever, it makes sense to include the (R) wherever you can.
Now who doesn't have this problem? Apple, for one. Unless you've been living under a tree for 35 years, you know that if you sell computers with an Apple logo on the front, you're infringing on a famous registered trademark.
Yahoo also doesn't have this problem, so who knows why they felt they needed to include the (R). During the original dotcom bubble, some companies were notably overzealous about IP, so they may have gone all in at the time only to revisit it now.
How are banks responding to your services? In insurance, we’re having a very soft market due to all the capital sloshing around the system. I imagine it can be challenging for lenders to impose significant risk controls when there’s alternative financing so cheaply available.
My wife works on climate change advocacy on the nonprofit side. Are you working with any advocacy organizations? Presumably they’re an important part of your approach.
