Well, that makes me feel better about not migrating to proton recently. Dream was nice while the mask stayed on.

I have M1 Maxes (one for work, one for home) that perform as good as new, as far as I can tell. Only thing they lack is an Nvidia GPU. I might pick up the new uber-studio though tmw when it launches (presumably).

Kitty is so awesome. I'm writing (well, as much as anyone writes) a MUD that models a decent part of Tokyo at 30-60fps over SSH at reasonable resolution (that's the dream, at least). I'm shocked at how fast I can render a big complex 3d environment, in the terminal.

Yeah if software was even moderstely efficient you wouldnt 32gb of ram on a personal machine.

This analagous to distributed cloud infrastructure that for 99.9% of companies could be replaced with a few servers and a 2-3 node postgres system.

I'm convinced a small percent of people get addicted to anything much more easily. Ive enjoyed various things but it's like meh- though Ativan is fucking amazing (but only for fear of flying). I think it is a brain reward structure thing; I get bored very easily and i guess it takes a decent amount of danger or effort to get me very interested.
