There are many organizations like this sprouting up around the city. Businesses and neighbors attempting to collectively do the work that the city departments aren't doing.

They will work on HomePod if you have personal requests enabled on that particular HomePod, which you can do via the Home app.

For me, Siri’s speech recognition is far worse than its NLP

Create separate contacts for each of your parents with their real names. Then, go into your contact card (aka “My Card”) and relate your parent’s contacts, one as mother, the other as father under “related names”. This will let Siri, and the rest of the system, know who your parents are. Also make sure that in Settings -> Siri & Search -> My information, you have the right contact card selected for yourself.

It’s unclear if the parent post meant that they have two contacts named “Mom and Dad” or if they are two separate contacts appropriately named.

"iOS bug allowed apps to eavesdrop on your conversations with Siri" should be "iOS bug allowed apps to eavesdrop on your interactions with Siri and dictation over bluetooth"

I agree with this. Mostly because I had a poor experience with one of their gate agents recently. They forced me to check my hand luggage because it was 2kg overweight. They don't uniformly enforce the hand luggage weight limit, their employees get to pick and choose passengers at the gate. The gate agent scoffed at me putting an AirTag in the bag that they were making me check.

Yeah this is the real surprise for me as well. How many cars drive around SF with no license plates and the SFPD doesn't do anything about it.

They had a similar check for jailbroken iPhones. The last time I flew with them they seem to have fixed it.

Both my parents came to the U.S. during Mariel. I didn't know that this year's economic Nobel Prize had gone to someone who studied the economic effects of people like my parents until I saw this post.

My parents always told stories about how one of them was one of the early arrivals and didn't go through any screening. The other arrived later and was quarantined in Army barracks in a state in the northeast while they were screened. I didn't know of the unrest in Arkansas during this time until I read this post.

The new campus only seats a small portion of their Bay Area employees, so a large percentage of the employees are dialing in to meetings anyway.

Southwest has a big presence in ATL and FLL. Delta also beefed up its Florida routes. The rest of the country (Likely mostly the Midwest) traveling through ATL to take advantage of Florida's lax COVID restrictions.
