There's no reason to believe these are a bad idea beyond lowering entry cost to GPS trackers.

It seems like there's a bug going on here - otherwise everyone would have the same issue. This is something that can be fixed and isn't really related to these existing overall.

does this distinction matter at all, in any way to the point they were trying to get across?

It appears when you get the first alert - click to silence it, and choose "indefinitely." That option only appears for Family devices.

If you're in the same family account there's a button to turn off those alerts. It worked for my family.

There are projects, like for Node there's a dotenv package, that can load these files.

If I have multiple machines, I manually sync them since that's usually the easiest way to manage it as secrets in my experience don't change enough to warrant syncing them.

Credentials/tokens go in environment variables. For development, the convention is to make a `.env` file that's in `.gitignore` and load it into your environment variables. In deployed contexts, you often have a system to do this for you.

Low power mode doesn't affect autoplay for me in Safari
Comment · 4 years ago
Yes, at least in Safari on iOS. If you properly mark it muted it will autoplay when asked.

I believe the user can change the setting to "Never Autoplay" instead of "Stop Media with Sound" but the default only affects with sound.

Yeah, that app store stack icon is a little funky. It's meant to represent a stack of apps - which that bar is, an app launcher for within messages.

Apple's view provides a photo library icon and shows as a half-screen popover unless the user starts scrolling, keeping context.

How does WebRTC reveal my IP address in a way that regular browsing does not? Can you point me to a site to see what is being leaked?
Comment · 5 years ago
Well given that this uses WebRTC, not surprising
