Gas expanding faster than the speed of sound is called a shockwave - and the Mach diamonds are essentially the expanding gas shockwave “bouncing” back and forth as it hits the atmosphere, forming a standing wave of high and low compression zones.

There could be some interesting actual OS design innovations for new permissions, access control, and sandboxing systems that are designed from the ground up for these "conjurable" experiences (or even OS components themself).

Finding some balance between access and safety for vibe-conjuring parts of the OS in a way that's still powerful but won't accidentally nuke or corrupt itself.

This is covered in Claudeish, had to stop reading. I have to read enough of this at work...

>What sits behind them is a calibre I had to solve the way a real one is solved, and this is why I bother.

>A skeleton is a load-bearing machine with the metal taken away down to the last safe gram, so what is left is whatever carries a force, and no spoke is wider than its job.

>Running and buildable are different questions, and the second is harder.

>A drawn movement is a claim. Before anything gets a surface, I test it as a machine.

If this isn't Claude-prose then the author has been reading too much of it...

(oh, Pangram gives the entire thing 100%)

iPhones still let you use certain contactless features (like Suica) even when the battery has "run out" (ie., the main OS has shut off). The reserve battery power is enough to run Suica, CarKey support, and FindMy.

I’m certain the vapidity of the characters in Gatsby is entirely the point.

The idea of having the chatbot essentially red team itself is hilarious.

+1 on this - would love to have a more realistic timing mode where there are a few minutes of ambiance for travel sections in between station arrivals.

Very first flight of a brand new engine type (Raptor 3) with totally reworked heatshielding/plumbing/sensors/control systems/etc.

Giant tardigrades would have been fun. Serious, authentic space travelers... not so much on the cuteness factor, though.

Alignment “appearing” better as model capabilities increase scares the shit out of me, tbh.

They’re a bit behind the curve. Prices are dropping.
