Maybe this is reference to the tongue of a shoe? IDK, still odd

Idealist.org has been a job board for non profits for decades, and you can find volunteer positions there at times.

Once upon a time I even worked at idealist itself when they had grander dreams

I can tell that most of you don't live in Oregon.

When I had a gas car up until two years ago, and I mostly got gas at CostCo. I did live in Virginia for three years. And I would say getting gas at CostCo in Oregon was 80% of the time faster than waiting for Virginians to pump their own gas at CostCo.

I'd rather not pump my own gas, and will miss the service. As will most people I know here.

Same in Oregon. I've had to wait multiple times for a slot to come available while traveling.

The worst will be blackouts for NBA games for this.

I had NBA TV for one season, but because I live in the Portland area, I can not watch Portland trailblazers games. It was ridiculous, so I did not subscribe this year.

Also related and shown in the diagrams in the linked article, why are so many babies born on Friday, and less on Saturday? Doctors/nurses want their weekends too, so inducements / c-sections also go up on Fridays.

Says the dad of the child born at 4pm on a Friday...

There's just no position someone says "only $24 billion" in a sane way

BTW, in California the acronym PG&E is for Pacific Gas and Electric

Confusingly when I moved to Oregon years ago, its PGE (without the ampersand) for Portland General Electric.

Short answer: written in C++ instead of C#

I also have used keepassxc for years now on mac/windows/linux/iphones

Urgh.

I have an open source hobby endpoint hosted for free on heroku for many years. Used by a bunch of websites / discord bots / desktop applications as a REST backend.

Annoying to have to open a case just to continue operating.

SMS that is not usable from all my other non-phone computers!

For this reason alone, I greatly prefer iMessage/discord/slack/whateverIsNext so I can use it on my phone and my computers.

Which is why I enjoy buying things at Costco. They usually have one widget of a particular type. And historically for me at least, they seem to be proficient at choosing good widgets. Thus, my only choice is whether I want it or not, not then another choice of which one do I want.

Thank you so very much. I used your guides heavily when working on my senior project doing linux networking at the system level many years ago!

I used to feel that way, then I got an electric car with a 250 mile range last year. I really have not felt the desire to ever have a gasoline car since. Hybrids have so many more parts needed, that I feel like they will simply have more problems long term. In an EV, there's not much that will ever need to get replaced due to "wear" other than tires and brakes.

As for charging, this last weekend was the first time I've ever had a problem finding a charger on 300 mile days. Most people I know don't even go on as many long drives as I do, as I enjoy driving for driving sake.

I have zero plans on gasoline ever again.
