I'm not sure it's coming from entitlement. It's like your highschool having a wall of notable graduates, and having your likeness taken down while you are still alive. It's a negative insulting signal

I've never had a phone company disconnect a phone call because they didn't like what I was saying https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-54552101 Twitter was stopping people from tweeting or sending direct messages containing links to the New York Post article about Hunter Bidens Laptop in October of 2020. They put their thumb on the scale.

I would reccomend the book "Japan's Motorcycle Wars: An Industry History" by Jeffrey W. Alexander which explores the consolidation of the crowded Japanese motorcycle industry in the post war.

You'll find people on both sides of the aisle who agree with this sentiment, they just disagree with what side is destroying the country and what side is letting it happen

How did the institutions dominated by the left react to dissent when it came to COVID 19 policy? Like the authors of the Great Barrington Declaration. Were they open with speculation about the virus, vaccine policy or the lockdowns? Or did they censor Disinformation and Misinformation on Campus, on social media, and at the work place?

If they are centrist and treating both sides the same, what are your favorite Joe Biden jokes from South Park? Given the number of Trump jokes and the both sidesism you mentioned there should be a lot of material to work with

Scientists are also notorious for being ideologically infiltrated by authoritarian or totalitarian ideologies/regimes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lysenkoism The Soviet Union was convinced that collectivism was the ultimate form of human society and organization. Lysenkoism fed their biases, and Soviet Agrarian scientists struggled to point out the new collective experimentation by the government was a disaster (a similar problem was faced by Chinese scientists and Bureaucrats trying to implement Mao's great leap forward). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phrenology Nazi Germany was convinced they were the greatest race on Earth, that Jews and Slavs were sub-human. Phrenology promised them a way to determine racial purity and back it up with scientific results. The scientific community brought us lobotomies and eugenics too.

After the Covid-19 epidemic, a party of The Science™ might not be as popular as some people would like to believe.

After cutting your finger do you ask for a bandaid or an Adhesive Medical Strip? There's a benefit to turning company names into Nouns or Verbs

Doesn't the insurance market have the same moral hazard? If you are paying for fire insurance it promises you a bundle of cash if your business burns down. At that point if the finances of your company go into the red, your only chance of becoming whole financially might involve a fire, and then you start calling folks like Tony Soprano to find an arsonist

Medicare and Medicaid represent the largest segments of U.S. federal health spending, consuming over a trillion dollars each. Medicare accounts for 21% of national healthcare expenditures. Medicaid constitutes $1 of every $5 spent on healthcare. The US government is helping the poor and the old with their healthcare

I don't think it's so obvious The International Brotherhood of Teamsters didn't officially endorse any candidate for president in 2024. This was because internal polling said that their members overwhelmingly supported Trump over Harris, while it seems like the union leadership supported Harris over Trump This is not the only Union who had a difference of opinion between leadership and membership in 2024

Despite all their problems, Detroit was an economic powerhouse. Motor city was a world class city, and they bid to host the Olympics eight times between 1944 and 1972. Detroit was far from perfect, but it seems like eventually their bad choices caught up with them. Detroit is no longer the world class city or economic powerhouse it once was.
