BAAS, Bryan-as-a-service to nag you weekly to fix bugs. Could be a profitable idea. lol.

How to lie in a resume to cover up a big gap?

Mostly negatively. The beautiful code that you produce by functional programming will always make you aware of how bad most programming languages are. I took Ocaml in university and I was completely and utterly blown away.

You just know deep down whenever you touch JS or some other language that there exists a better way of programming.

This depressive garbage has unfortunately proliferated itself way too much in tech spaces like HN.

Nonsense like this pretends to be wisdom but it's the very opposite of it and it has only one message: become more anxious because time is limited. No one will be helped by this, despite the gorgeous UI it's a filthy life degrading viewpoint that needs to be dismantled.

Avoid those that make you fearful and sad that degrade you back into disease and death. -Rumi

I may write a blogpost about this soon.

There is no decay and decline. Thinking that decay and decline is coming is the decay happening right now. This mentality needs to change ASAP.

Her next post will be "Where have all the good men went".

That's exactly what I'm saying. We're talking about FAANGs not your uncle's ice cream shop.

It's more often than not a prerequisite. I was contacted a few years ago and was told that the position was for people with "BsC" degrees. They lie through the teeth all the time.

Same with Elon Musky, Phd not required but they won't even look at your resume without it.

Yup, tons of educational garbage online. FreeCodeCamp is a big offender. 12 year olds teaching syntax. These places exist for a reason their job is to sell the illusion of knowledge.

It's a nonsense of a blogpost. Everyone is in a rush because there's ageism in tech and getting up to speed fast is important.

"If you want, put in four years at a college (or more at a graduate school). This will give you access to some jobs that require credentials, and it will give you a deeper understanding of the field, but if you don't enjoy school, you can (with some dedication) get similar experience on your own or on the job. In any case, book learning alone won't be enough"

It's not if you want. Great importance is given to university degrees even at Google. I've lost count of people claiming education doesn't matter who have it as a prerequisite on their companies job pages.
