These types of videos just suck. The ones that are overly long just to show ads. They have good information but the makers just extend them way longer than they need to be by constant repetition. This video could easily be less than half an hour but it was extended to close to an hour. I gave up after 5 mins.

Amateur politician have good intentions but are not very effective. It's hard to get consensus when everyone has their own opinion. Professional politician have the background to get somethings done but yes they have thier own issues. My suspicion is that the new group might get a few items thru. Things that have been burning in the majorities minds but after that there won't be much done. It very hard to get people to agree, specifically intelectuals that think they are always right and can put up a good argument.

I think the majority of apps will be set up for agent access. We humans will request something from the agent and it will be completed as needed on the fly. We will still have information similar to CNN and The New York Times but many of the SaaS sites will be mostly used by agents while servicing our requests or their needs. I fear that we will be more isolated from each other since we will get many more services at home and work hours will be reduced.

It's too early. There was a time where economist could not find productivity gains from PC products. I think I remember reading about it in the early 2000s over a decade after computers were common in business. Part of it is that companies aren't quick to throw what's work for tech that hasn't fully proven itself.

AI productivity gains are coming make no mistake about it. My guess is that we'll see them within the next 5 years.

I feel like we need an open source DVD and CD so that they will survive for the long term. Streaming is nice but I don't want to pay monthly fees forever just to hear the music I like.

Yes, since we hear a lot about AI doing the majority of programming for many SWEs, my take is that SWE is more than programming. It takes a lot of expertise to create a successful software application. So, as people begin to use AI to create ever more useful and complex programs, it won’t be a situation where SWEs let AI do all the work. SWE will regain some of its respect. AI is taking some of the shine off many careers, so it’s not just SWEs. Only time will tell which careers will be at the top in the coming years, but those who understand AI and its creation will certainly be respected.

Many of us will face this issue. What's the fix? What should we do now to prepare?

Talk about stealing. Taylor Swift should be fuming, at the very least, about how a machine can steal her style, something that has taken her whole life to create and master. We should all be fuming with outrage. I'm sad for all those wannabe artists who will never be, since all they have to do is tell a machine to do it and never have to struggle. Like they say, be careful what you ask for.

In the 70's, you could go to see a movie and get a free box of 5 cigs.

Smart move. For less than 11 billion, he will have at least a generation of taxpayers on his side, with a positive view of SpaceX. Bezos better start talking about doing the same thing, otherwise, his company will be at a deficit.

Nope, my bet is that it will happen sometime in the beginning of 2029. Yes, it's a guess but it's no more or less likely than this guys guess.

Most presidents in the US are puppets of their party and contributors. When you vote, you are really voting for the party, since going outside what the party wants will generally get you nothing in the long term. Sure, it’s easy for a president to issue executive orders and temporarily get what he wants, but they can just as easily be overturned by the next president. Great presidents are great because they were able to make changes that will last many years after their presidency ends.

In school, we were told that eventually there would be an AI expert system for most, if not all, subjects. We are at the start of that cycle. I say that within the next 15 to 20 years, companies will create app like expert systems that fit and completely run on our phones. That will democratize AI in the same way the internet is widely used now. Give it time. After all, there are nearly 8 billion people in the world. No technology is instantly adopted by everyone. Not even AI can do that.

Recently, I asked Gemini to create a nightstand clock app for a spare phone I have by giving it a picture and a quick prompt of what I wanted, and that was all. It did a pretty good job. I was amazed. The phone clock is on my nightstand right now. I look at your page and am blown away by what’s possible. It makes me think that, at this point, we are limited only by our imagination when it comes to what AI can do. Thanks for posting.

I have to disagree. I don't necessarily like all of them, but I found them all interesting in some way. I particularly liked the Brick Breaker one. It would have been a shame if that had been one of the 80% that would not have made it to the page in your scenario.
