I could dig into their documentation but I'd rather ask an enthusiast. Is it still possible to get your own data out in a nice and easy format? I was once all-in on a note-taking app that slowly got worse and worse and it was a hassle to escape, so now I always consider it before starting.

If Zotero ever enshittifies or just disappears would I still be able to access my data and transfer it to something else?

First, I would find it disrespectful. But second, I would be concerned that the LLM would tell the human to do something dangerous (like undercooking chicken) and since the human is apparently so desperate and clueless that they're using an LLM they wouldn't know it was a problem.

If they used AI to search for it that's different. I meant if they used AI to generate the recipe.

I would absolutely stop eating a meal if I learned AI was involved in creating it. I suppose I wouldn't literally spit it out but I wouldn't take another bite.

it sounds like the author is using an e-ink device for note-taking. i use an ipad app for a lot of hand-written notes and i'm consistently surprised at how well it can search my chicken-scratch.

my biggest issue with handwriting is it just takes so long that i end up leaving out important details. it's a shame because i do enjoy it.

Where would you recommend?
