Just add “test everything”, “this is mission critical” and “make no mistakes” to the prompt.

> Such a weird place.

It's an aristocracy with the progenitors being chosen on a first come first rule base. One could say: "So what? It's a private website with its own rules, make your own!", but then again for most topics and most groups the relevant subreddits are THE biggest forums: Country, province, city specific subreddits, politics, etc. And that makes it extremely problematic.

Reddit might be a private company but the reach of their subreddits makes them a significant player in world wide public opinion forming and opinion sharing -and they largely leave it in the hands of powertripping, chronically online weirdos.

Not if firing / not hiring a software engineer is worth 100-300 thousand dollar in tokens.

Oh the privilege.

Who can blame them?

After having failed romantically one too many times and having an average dev job AI will probably take from me, that won't allow me to FIRE for 6 more years even if I can keep it, life's not fun for me at 35 already, how will it be at 55, all wrinkled up, frail, probably cancer stricken and with no future potential left?

I am smart enough to realize the smartest people I ever met indeed did not think others were stupid, they considered them to be complete imbeciles instead.

…and that’s a good thing, as this non critical incident will raise awareness for safety in more critical domains like power plants, medical devices… oh who am I kidding.

Eventually a digital act of terrorism or war will be enacted that will kill thousands or more.

Why not separate systems between paying customers and free tier vibecode slopsters?

In Oracle Cloud’s PAYGO always free tier you get 4x6GB vps you can run managed kubernetes on. + free mysql db and many other things…

I vibecoded a diary + life statistics/metrics web app, another one that shows me public transport I care about, etc.

Half of the fun was setting all of this up. Learning terraform, kubernetes, helm, lgtm observability stack, https, vibecoding…

I can also use this to show that I am a “total stack” A-Z developer.

Reddit is full of EH content lately, now this.

All of this must be a marketing campaign for the movie.

Astra Penthesilea has towers that sometimes clip into the green... hedges? Pipes?

Opus Eutropia has a few isekai circle cities with one of them... ON the river, giving no space for ship traffic.

Slop has never been this beautiful before!

> I find it really hard to believe that you can make a whole organism that doesn't have any molecules that can be targeted by an antibody.

We just don't know yet, but I want to believe because I think it's exciting. Protease failure, transport machinery failure, MHC binding failure, they are all stereospecific after all... So it's possible.

> And if you can do that then why go through mirror life anyway?

Because our body can produce antibodies against all "classical" forms of life. It's probably impossible to produce classical pathogens that are fully invisible to the immune system. That's the whole point and danger of mirror life in the context of pathogen creation. Plenty of classical pathogens were our antibodies (usually) don't help already exist though: HIV for example, where only very few people are lucky enough to be elite neutralizers. If we wanted to do biological warfare, it would probably easier to enhance those viruses.

> And if we ever get to this point I'm very optimistic that we would have a good way to vaccinate against this.

I am not so sure about this, if the bodies molecular machinery is unable to produce antigens for those pathogens, no classical or mrna vaccine is gonna trick the body into producing them, it's just technically impossible. You'd need to "update" the whole immune system to be able to manufacture the mirror antibodies and from that we are an eternity away. The only remotely feasible cure in such a world would be through infecting the body with another mirror-pathogen that produces mirror-antibodies or directly injecting mirror-antibodies...

"A sufficiently stereochemically alien pathogen could, in principle, place essentially all of its important antigenic determinants outside the effective recognition repertoire of a conventional adaptive immune system."

With perfect knowledge of the immune system and the capability to create the pathogens of our dreams it would most likely be possible to create this pathogen of our dreams.

Making an entire self replicating mirror organism that would both have this property of "being invisible to the specific immune system" and AND being an effective pathogen is far from a solved problem though. It's further away as useful quantum computing!

We don't even have self replicating mirror cells, just some synthetic Frankensteins.
