Eww. I have now lost all interest in their products.

This. It boggles my mind too. My wife has a laptop but 99% of the time she’ll use her phone unless there’s no other way. Its her primary device for books, YouTube, and any other kind of content consumption. I reach for a tablet or laptop far before her.

Source? In my personal experience what you’re describing has nothing to do with race. Managers / leaders I’ve encountered who want to save money are just as happy to hire in China, Poland, or anywhere else compared to the place you’re thinly veiling your allusion to if the price is right.

I like using my 6th gen as an erader. With the right color settings the screen doesn’t fatigue me, and it’s nice to be able to read from any source (kindle, Apple Books, Libby, a pdf, etc).

Google and Mozilla are banning their roots. There’s a good chance if’s a death penalty for the company.

At least Google and Mozilla are revoking the roots too

I assume every state level actor is now quietly trying the first few hundred million private keys possible or so just to see what root ca or issuing ca key pairs match.

More than that, they claim the key was in an HSM, so they likely could not look at it.

I mean you could say something similar about Russia in its asymmetric conflict with Ukraine. Both still have scary capacity.

Absolutely. It’s also very good advice. I live in Austin, TX. I know multiple people who have gone to MD Anderson in Houston. It’s a way better quality of care, and my insurance is just as happy to pay for them or local docs.

OP: fuck cancer. I wish you a speedy and quick recovery.

- Not an option on iOS

- Safari sips battery on macOS

No hate for Firefox, and glad it’s an option for people, but Wipr was worth the small $ to me personally. YMMV.

I’m curious what they are working on that gets so many commits. Surely Claude is not under that rate of churn?

I remember before COVID trying to interview multiple places and time it where offers will land at the same time. I remember flying 3 times in one week (!) to make this happen. We have it easy now :).

The H1b program was really intended for things like "man, we can't get any doctors to work in town x, guess we'll use h1b". Tech has twisted it way beyond that.

That said, I think US tech works benefit a ton from a world where the US is the center of R&D, many of the best R&D jobs are in the US, and every tech company in the world that's doing something interesting has a pretty good shot of at least having a site in the US.

The US as a country benefits from having all of the world brain drain to here.

Can we figure out a system that's not the broken H1b mess and make that happen?
