Gypsy seems to reference at least a dozen or so different groups of people in different languages (some languages use Tsinganoi-related version). Some groups use the word themself, others don't.

Most often it is the mainstream society living in stationary houses describing people living in temporary encampments with a different culture.

Headlines, that are sentences

Headline that goes "A was this" and next headline "Then b was that".

>AI lets me offload things that I don't need to know and frees up my brain to push farther than I could before.

How can you push your brain go farther than ever, when you don't use it for the basic task?

Higher Math does not work without understanding "lower" Math, running long runs does not work without starting on shorter runs. Thinking about complicated staff will probly not work, if you can't think about the easy stuff.

One can not learn a language without vocabulary and skipping learning verbs in a foreign language, because dictionaries exists does not bring one closer to being able to speak.

I used OpenSuse with KDE version just until 3 month ago and never had any wifi problems.

I ued the KDE OS before and had no problem.

I am currently using Bazzite (seeing if it is actually better than other Linux OSes) with KDE and never had a problem. Many problems occured, but wifi wasn't one of them.

Yes, it is what I found works so well. It is easy to write short, specific functions in Elixir and adding Typespecs to theses functions is like typing a block of code. Within the functions everything is "easily" understandable.

Input > Enumerable.Map(Input, type-speccd functionA) > Enumerable.Map(Input, type-speccd functionB)

>The smart student uses the LLM as a proctor or provide challenges and feedback on attempts rather than an easy button.

Yeah, this is how we used wolframalpha for Math as students. Whatever we had to do, we did it ourself as a group of three. Afterwards we checked with Wolframaplha to see if we were correct. If there were any difference between us, we went line by line to find where the error appeared.

It was helpful, because we did it ourself, but because the work was graded, we had the security, that it is not a total failure.

>The vibe coding got the project attention and it looks like he's going to get the help he needed.

I guess vibecoding certain software is now the new way of "instead of asking for help, write the wrong solution instead".

The horse racing game was the first program I programmed in school.

randint(1..6) per horse and watching them race was the "drug", that made me follow programming as a career.

"ss" is a different sound in German.

Trasse (line/ train path) vs Straße (street)

generated hours...I can find bugs as a developer easily, the rest comes from the user.

The good bugs from AI are bug neither developer nor user has found, so it is more work.

I, not the previous writer, have and PSG did exactly this. It made writting compact GUIs for smaller projects manageable without going into the deeps of GTK, win32 or QT.

I tried a bunch of Frameworks and some were easier (PSG, Kivi) and others much harder.

lazygit helped me to get more into different git commands - I still don't know them by heart. but at least I use more git has to offer.

and when a new branch is one key stroe away from being created, I am more inclined to use it.

I feel like people undervalue the learning experience of just being a workhorse for a while. It's a lot easier to do, make and correct errors when you start with the simpler stuff under guidance

The authors itself writes:

>I would recruit a graduate student into my lab and allow them to run with the project, providing guidance along the way.

You say to many phd students are used as disposable cheap labor, but what is the amount of people still learning stuff maybe bigger?

Yeah, I doing something like this for me. An ePaper display to show local departures of public transport and QR code for my local network.

Having the departure times of my local tram right next to my door helps to not miss it by half a minute. =)
