Is the memory-unsafe descriptor just saying it wasn't written in rust? Or does it specifically do some UB stuff which happens to work out so far?

The goal is to deskill the labor of these workers. If there is a threat of a replacement which can bypass the cost of creating a new skilled worker, then the workers lose their bargaining power. It doesn't matter if the threat is a bluff so long as it is believed enough to give leverage.

> We surveyed attendees ahead of the symposium. One of our questions was: if this doesn’t happen in the next ~10 years, what will the primary reason be? The number one reason cited was lack of funding, followed by technical feasibility. Why hasn’t this field attracted sufficient funding, especially given the enormous societal burden?

Isn't a projected problem with technical feasibility an explanation for lack of funding?

I'd argue that while Rust has a high barrier to writing code due to lifetimes and other type constraints, its still quite easy to read.

(Kind of the inverse of perl)

Emulating the lowest common denominator is the function of an LLM. It works better for things like code because boring code is actually the best code.

How would you fix the spec? Add a line explicitly stating the /Library/Application Support dir is only for applications with a bundle ID, instead of just implying it?

The name of this feature is transclusion.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transclusion

It was part of Project Xanadu, and originally considered to be an important feature of hypertext.

Notably, mediawiki uses transclusion extensively. It sometimes feels like the wiki is the truest form of hypertext.

This looks like it was caused by this update https://developers.cloudflare.com/waf/change-log/2025-04-22/ rule 100741.

It references this CVE https://github.com/tuo4n8/CVE-2023-22047 which allows the reading of system files. The example given shows them reading /etc/passwd
