As someone who has cellular in their work laptop, it is just that bit more seamless. Hotspotting also drains the battery on my device substantially.

Do people read the parent posts people comment on.

Even if that were the case, it doesn't point to there being a power supply shortage which is the point the original commenter was making.

I don't think it promised less work. In a vacuum of 10 people it now enables less than 10 people to do the same amount of work, assuming there is a limit to the amount of work to be done in a work day.

AI allows me to do more work within the same time, not less work given I work in a field where the amount of work doesn't seem to have a limit.

As someone who hit the PC gaming world in around 2008 online, we started with TeamSpeak and Ventrilo which were hosted platforms that allowed you to voice chat with your friends. They had cost money and weren't that great on audio quality (from that time).

Then we went to separate game specific voice chat platforms which were inconsistent, but meant you struggled to find a way to chat with mates outside of something like Skype at the time.

Discord was one of the first platforms that was firstly free and allowed you one place to chat with friends and communities about games AND had very good quality audio.

People use it for all sorts of things, however I use it fairly minimally and only to be able to voice chat with friends either when gaming together or playing separate games. I don't get understand some peoples problems with it, it works better than anything else out there for what I use it for.

Absolutely

The biggest thing that drove iPhones success was that it truly felt different. The interface, the touch screen.

I remember it just feeling so different, it was easy to use no complicated jammed in UI.

It felt like the next generation of mobile UI's was born as it didn't feel clunky like the others.

I don't understand how you can look at a Palm PDA from 2007 and say it felt like polished rock in your pocket, but the iPhone didn't.

Given that depending on the Palm you're talking about it had 90 degree angles on the chassis and the iPhone was completely rounded. Not only was it rounded everywhere but it was also Aluminum with a glass screen.

Mostly because they're driven by profit at all costs, which is often the downfall of a lot of things.

However I can't make any sort of judgement on such a generalised basis

Because it had only just been released, then it very quickly became a flagship mobile app store. Many other aspects of the device were a cut above the competition and very quickly took the lead with the 2nd Gen.

The touch screen was shocking on the Palm and the UI was an absolute mess.

Yes and no, the competition (Samsung, LG etc) still continued for over 5 years to release their flagship smartphones chassis made out of plastic. The iPhone was aluminum, which felt significantly better.

The Palm as it was in 2007 was made of plastic, the screen was resistive touch and also made of plastic. The iPhone was made of aluminum, the screen was capacitive and was made of glass.

The iPhone in your pocket should've felt more like a polished stone than the palm.

With all the jokes about consultants, they actually do quite important work and don't just create powerpoints or layoffs like people thing.

There are plenty of excellent engineering products that Apple have engineered themselves. Starting with the iPhone itself which was an enormous cut above the competition.

Yes Apple has "copied" or brought out its own version of particular products before, usually in a much better state.

You can do this, you can plug your Garmin device into your machine and pull all of the data off.

Mate you are only 25, those people getting married and having kids are doing it early. You have another 10+ years before you could even think about the childless uncle phase as a construct.

But I have a HomePod mini that I use for all of my Matter devices, why would I need a massive device with a screen just for that?

The only difference I can see is multiuser support of which Siri works just fine for me controlling the matter devices in the house that are on my partners Apple account. I can't justify buying a product just for multi user support and have another bulky device sitting in the house.

Apple would've been better off putting a FaceID camera in a Homepod mini or Homepod to get the same functionality.

Just purely based on the headline and its part in the article, it's an odd statement.

Milk is consumed almost everywhere in copious amounts, if it isn't produced properly it can create significant illness and potentially death in some. Washing machines can also kill when pets get put in them, or children climb themselves into them.

The reason they are regulated is based on decades of safety incidents.

AI hasn't reached that yet, or to the general public. Yes its has potential, but we just don't have the actual incidents occurring to require it.

But I do like his statement of "Let's start today" which I read that as, lets do it before we realised we should've, which is a good thing.
