We have started the ara of ai.

It really doesn't matter how good current llms are.

They have been good enough to start this ara.

And no it's not and never has been just llms. Look what Nvidia is doing with ml.

Whisper huge advantage, segment anything again huge. Alpha fold 2 again huge.

All the robot announcements -> huge

I doubt we will reach agi just through llms. We will reach agi through multi modal, mix of experts, some kind of feedback loop, etc.

But the stone started to roll.

And you know I prefer to hear about ai advantages for the next 10-30 years. That's a lot better than the crypto shit we had the last 5 years.

The problem is that for you personally it feels shitty.

But you know what? For a lot more woman it feels like this compared to man.

It's your duty if an educated person to see thisaccept it and move on for equality sake. And I do not mean this ironic.

We are not changing our society without some people having less chances for having a highly undermined group of other people.

I would prefer for all of us just sitting down and actually talking how we all want to life but this mental gymnastics is too much for most people

Ah yes the blind person who constantly needs to know if two lines intersect.

Let's just ignore what a blind person normally needs to know.

You know what blind people ask? Sometimes there daily routine is broken because there is some type of construction and models can tell you this.

Sometimes they need to read a basic sign and models can do this.

Those models help people already and they will continue to get better.

I'm not sure if I'm more frustrated how condescending the authors are or your ignorance.

Valid criticism doesn't need to be shitty

I don't think it's hard to get more than a few seconds of voice from many people.

'hi, sry to call you I'm Cindy and I'm from your insurance. I'm calling regarding your car crash ...'.

A half assed analysis.

Where are the numbers coming from? It's not only that chatgpt might have lost people but also that there are already a lot of options available now.

My company introduced helpful ai features so did Google and Microsoft.

I can now transcript and summarize my meetings in Ms teams for example.

In a conference I saw Bosch talking about a gen AI hub which they now internally use and saving time and money by using less external companies for these cases

GenAI and llms are already here.

And ai means a lot more. It's a Paradigma Shift.

The announcements of robots jumped and the quality of them too. Thanks to whisper and a lot of other advantages it's easier than ever to build a talking and listing robot.

Did we slow down a little bit after the original 'holy shit it's AI time let's restructure '? Sure but not that much.

And I'm definitely looking forward to the progress curve after all this capital has been moved and hardware gets cheaper and faster and more affordable.

Every normal application already does it through the os because most do not care about this at all.

Music player, browser, games, video player...

Audio is not app specific

The only application were this is true is audio were you want full control and low latency.

I find your take very weird.
