How do you pass a defective signal then? How do you couple a second locomotive? How do you add cars?

IIRC, the mouse driver attached a .dll to all programs to do the scrolling.

Internet Exporer 6 did not have tabs.

There was a setting to open each window in a separate process. Even Windows Explorer (the file manager) had this setting, in case it crashed extracting a thumbnail or something.

IE crash would take down Windows Explorer because it was integrated into it since Win98. A bad ideea, IMO - the point where bloat began.

Like I said, technologies were just being invented. Back then things improved (mostly - see IE integration as a counter-example). Each new version was better than the one before. Can you say that now?

Try switching from IDE compatibility mode to AHCI or RAID.

Even the shortcut keys were the same everywhere!

Win95 did have scroll wheel support! Win311 didn't.

TweakUI indeed doesn't add support for scrolling inactive windows. I used IntelliMouse driver for that feature.

It's because those things that improved stability were just being invented.

No browser had tab isolation. In fact, no browser had tabs.

Memory protection in Win311 (first to use the new v86 mode) and Win9x was intentionally weak to allow DOS programs to access hardware directly. WinNT/2000 broke sound in all DOS games and lots of other programs that relied on direct hardware access. The price of stability was incompatibility.

I ran Win98 until 2006 or so. Once I replaced all bad software and drivers, it was stable enough to not bother to turn off at night and do suspend-to-ram instead. I recently bought an Acer Swift Edge w/ Win11. It is so bad, it is not capable of S3 sleep. It won't even disconnect from wifi.

The decline started earlier than WinXP. IMO, it started with the integration of IE in Win98 desktop.

I never had MacOS. Is it really true?

- What you buy is yours forver?

- Even if the company's servers go offline?

- Even if you change your PC?

- Apple can't remove it from your machine whenever they like?

- You can back up the installer and license and reinstall it later? Offline?

> Why do you feel the need to tear this project down over aspects you haven’t even looked at?

Because it looks to me like some sort of hype product launch / vaporware / investor bait / star farming, or some other foul play, and everyone here gave votes and supportive comments instead of realizing just how bad it must be in reality.

No, you're not.

"Cannabis-related diagnoses" - I don't even understand what that means - it could be a "this is a cannabis user" diagnosis. A 14% increase in cannabis use after legalization is expected.

All the others show 1% - 3% increase, some having very wide CI, which they call significant. (??)

"Opioid-related diagnoses" - Again, I don't understand what that means - it could be a "opioid user" diagnosis. It shows a 3% decrease with huge CI, but which they call "no change". (??)

I'm the one with the criticism. You should argue with me, not those who agree with my criticism.

This project is so bad, anyone with basic physics and electronics understanding can tell it's bad. Unlike @sleepybrett I never even built a keyboard in my life and yet can I still find numerous problems with that keyboard. And I didn't even get to the MCU firmware part. I can only imagine how bad that is.

If this project was done only to learn, then why is it here? People don't usually brag about what they learn. (Look ma! I put 3 lego bricks together.) I mean, it's perfectly OK to build projects to learn, make mistakes and learn from those too - I wish I had time to do that myself - but showing it on HN as if it's some viable product? Don't do that.

Why are you defending it? Just because it looks "cool"?

Yes, it did, and the total capacity changed too. With 4K (larger) sectors I got a few GB more space.

No. It's a vaccine.

In case you don't know, the very first vaccine invented was the rabies vaccine. It also contained RNA - a live rabies virus - and it also hijacks the patients own cells to provoke an immune response.

Please stop spreading conspiracy theories.
