I have zero doubt it could do it, if the prompter could competently explain the requirements. I have no reason to believe that this single engineer has any idea what problems most of the existing legacy code needs to solve or why it solves them that way...

log4j was indeed the last time the internet storm center went to threat level yellow (as it is today again)

okay but they require you to use a permissive license so they can just take all your work

Windows 10 definitely begged you to use a Microsoft account to log in. IIRC you couldn't even set it up with a local account unless you told the install process you didn't have internet. I believe it also moved your home folder to onedrive without asking with no way to fully undo that

okay, but what about people who get more enjoyment out of talking to their family while performing a shared task, than eating the pizza. showing up to the pizza making session a frozen pizza from the store says "I don't want to talk to you"

Finder is frustrating but this guy is just complaining about the fact that he's unable to organize his own files into directories in a way that lets him find them later. He then calls himself a power user. Finder even has tags to help with this, which is more than most operating systems get

The article posits that they may just have centralized monitoring, not control. Since this didn't affect every location, I would assume it was a shared default password or something

While I do agree there will be disruption we haven't seen yet, my company is already spending >$40k/day for a "frontier model", so who knows. Then again, they're not using that for coding

The CANOS arxiv link says absolutely nothing about AlphaEvolve, Gemini, or LLMs. It seems to use purely traditional ML models. If AE did in fact write a quick script to test different configurations in order to optimize the results, they don't seem to have bothered to write about it.

I can't read the Nature paper about DeepConsensus, but from the summary, it doesn't really explain what role AE had in improving DC. It would be nice to be able to read about what role it actually played, and whether it used traditional or novel methods of performing it

You're the reason I have to call my ISP to host a minecraft server for a couple of my friends.
