I've had to use a touch screen laptop for work, before I thought it would be amazing, but then when the display got dirty and due to company privacy and safety rules we weren't allowed to bring anything onto production floor, the only way to clean the display was to switch to paint or something and wipe the display like that, but if you were in a middle of the call and you forgot that the display was touch, you'd have created a whole lot of trouble!

I do agree a bit with the OP regarding setting everything up. First time I did it, it was a multi day project. A few weeks ago when I was setting everything up, I just asked AI to write me a PowerShell script, I'm sure that if I gave it access to my computer it could have done it even faster! I've started more and more just asking AI to set everything us, especially if it's a GitHub project that needs a bunch of configurations and all that.

Why would they buy something just to potentially kill it?

Waa! Is that why I'm still unemployed, because I haven't been buying (or reading) newspapers...

To be honest, I'm still having a hard time believing that Apple would release a device that you can completely ruin with just your fingernail...

>docile salmon

Hmm… that made me think of domestication, do you think we could ever have salmon as pets? What’s their character like? More like dogs or cats?

I was going to try it with my laptop RTX 3080 16GB VRAM and 32GB RAM, but there's a requirement that I couldn't fulfill... 1TB of storage...

I (very) often just read the discussion on HN and don't open the links, usually just by reading the title I know what's it about and the content I receive from the discussion here, plus I get any corrections y'all find along with needed skepticism, doubts and questions.

Off topic, but:

>will refuse to give you the slightest hint of any number attached to risk (I know, I've tried many times).

reminds me of my lawyer... (I lost)

Why would they added URLs for porn websites to their keywords? Like literally the names of websites with ".com" and such at the end.

I need a robot that would earn money instead of me. I enjoy doing the dishes, laundry and work around the house~

> It's hard to say what their motivation is.

Maybe because the industry isn't yet very sure as to what the use cases might be for these technologies they're hoping that by making it open source and accessible to everyone that someone could find interesting applications for it and even more so, perhaps, way to further the technologies themselves.

There are more Chinese than Americans, so statistically speaking, I'm guessing, there'd be a greater chance for one of Chinese engineers to make advancements than one of American. But that's pure speculation on my part, being neither, I'm just happy I can be a part of it and play with the tools as well~

>Roughly 12 to 15 hours of recording.

That seems extremely little for 100$...

I feel like that's often the case, right? Even gravity being describe first by Brahmagupta and Bhaskara II before Issac.
