Can you please explain what Apple TV is a compromise between?

On the scale of "general-purpose-computer" Vs "applies Netflix DRM", it's at the extreme far end.

Because for most people to get any utility out of it, they need to plug in a smart device.

It doesn't matter whether you run android TV from the TV itself or an external device.

All the popular streaming services throttle or block open devices.

There's no regulation on it, because regulators want locked-down hardware that can only take actions approved by them.

Those are no longer useful as a "public square" because of the increasingly walled garden design.

Client-side algorithmic feed fixes a lot of that, it's not a fundamental flaw.

One "fix" is for the caller to correctly classify those fundamentally impossible tasks and pass them to a subprocess.

Some future "AI" could be a billion benchmark-hacks and a way to tell which one is needed.

No need to give distant examples - the US train boom used the same strategy.

If one user makes the mistake, it would be fair to blame them.

Because thousands of users make the same mistake, blame needs to be directed at Windows UX.

MS could fix this easily by 1) moving Run to optional features and 2) removing online features from Start to make performance comparable.

The other "run" interfaces (terminal, conhost, Powershell) are sufficiently menacing to scare away non-devs already.

Brexit harming the growth of both UK and EU is another perfectly valid interpretation of those numbers.

I'm sure there's a little truth to both, and noise from all kinds of other factors.

Rather than telling the LLM "loop through these files", tell it "write a script to loop through these files", then hard-code that script somewhere.

The same people who abbreviate "generative" AI in a way that misleadingly conflates it with "general" AI.

Fraud is just the default lifestyle of marketers.

YouTube on Firefox is a much better experience than the official YouTube app, so you can drop one from the list.

.net, dynamics, power, 365, azure, fabric, copilot.

There's always some pointless name change going on.
