I get what you were trying to say, but the quality difference is actually extremely low.

“midwit-pilled”? Is this a “How do you do, fellow kids” rhetorical ploy? You’ve got it backwards. The average American and European thinks the Earth will be destroyed in current year + 5 years, and modern sumptuary laws or ersatz-religious rituals around recycling or performative bicycling have a material impact on climatic fluctuations that take thousands of years.

If XKCD is your source, you’re not on the right side of the bell curve. Sorry, friend. It’s not your fault. It’s just cruel statistics to be average. We can smugly scoff at how religions exploited the gullible for their own empowerment, and yet be oblivious to how it’s happening to them. Wow, an eschatological crisis? Guess I better vote how I’m told and self-flagellate.

So, your cellular respiration is the problem? Got it. Have you looked into Heavens Gate or Aum Shinrikuo? That might be interesting to you.

My son was gifted an old Mac from his grandparents. It only supports OSX 10.13. I’ve been able to make several games that he genuinely likes (7 yo) Opus built them on my workstation and then pushed them to his computer and tested them over SSH. It handled all the asset creation or collection from CC0 licensed sources. I believe everything is built on the Godot engine. It’s really amazing to me. I don’t know what it would cost me to get someone to build custom games on a long deprecated computer architecture, but I paid Anthropic $20.

I think it’s encouraging that the major players in AI are all focusing on what they do best. The United States is focused on new, cutting edge technology. China is focused on improving and optimizing the process for maximum efficiency. Europe is focused on creating useless administrative overhead. Everyone is in their element.

I would be very surprised is WMF employee conditions would meet anyone’s definition of abuse. If anything, these sound like patronage jobs.
