The usable life of a model is until the next one comes out. If OpenAI were to fully release the weights of GPT 3.5 today, I doubt anyone would care.

I recently bought a $40 Z Flip 4 on Facebook Marketplace with a broken inner screen. Setup was tough while working half-blind, but once ADB was enabled, scrcpy made the rest easy. It’s easily one of my best purchases yet. It works surprisingly well as a full server and easily replaced the Raspberry Pi running my cloud sync apps. A 512GB microSD card alone would’ve cost double what I paid for the whole phone! My one complaint is that I'm unable to root the phone to optimize performance and set battery limits, but that hasn't held me back from anything I've tried to run so far.

Highly doubt it. The current mobile version (Minecraft bedrock) is the version that Microsoft wants everyone to use. Java edition only sticks around because they know it's the version most of the community wants.

Wouldn't the Steam digital demo system be the modern evolution of the shareware model? For free you can access a limited portion of the game to try it and consider eventually buying it.

This feels like a very high-tech solution to a problem that doesn't really exist. Why involve an LLM to install Hyprland when "sudo dnf install hyprland" works fine? I feel like you're mistaking Nix being 'AI-ready' as a feature, when in reality, you're just forced to use an LLM because Nix is too annoying to manage manually.
