Don't judge, he/she might work as a Test Engineer!

I agree that once "Q" is selected, "Qwen" is by far the most likely choice. What I don't get is why it would start by picking "Q", one of the least-used letters in English, unless it already decided to say "Qwen". Now, as others have pointed out, saying "Qwen" and being Qwen are two separate things (though I don't get why they don't just filter model declarations out of the dataset, or carefully replace them with theirs, as that would easily bias the model to always say their name).

> By contrast, U.S. developers OpenAI, Anthropic and ... Google have closed-source models.

> Chinese AI firms ... have shocked markets by releasing open-source models nearly as capable as those from OpenAI and Anthropic

Notice how they pit closed-source US companies against open-source Chinese companies (while neglecting to mention Google, and "Open"AI (once), released open models). Reuters seems to be playing along with the 'evil open-source' narrative. There was no mention of Inkling, Liquid, and other American open model companies either.

To preface this, I agree with the parent of your comment that doing water-intensive farming in California just doesn't make rational sense. However, you are seriously suggesting using guerilla tactics, against farmers of all people‽ You've got nothing on farmers. Many are hunters if you didn't know, and would start defending water pumps from hundreds of yards away (if you get my drift). Good luck ( ... not!).

Huh? I use Firefox on Android with uBlock Origin and it blocks ads just fine. I concur regarding Chrome though and try to avoid it.

If both sides are willing to do that, why didn't they do that the first time instead of creating Minecraft PE?

I don't know about you, but most of us don't want to drop $10k+ on a GPU!

One RTX 3090 would allow you to run either Qwen 3.6 model with ~100k context at Q4_K_M quantization. Two would definitely allow full context and then some, or go for Q8 quantization. You can do quote a lot of LLM stuff with one or more 3090s. Or give them to me and I will happily put them to use!

Using that tool has gotta be a fireable offense, right?

Not seeing a typo in your quote. Can you point it out?

Why does this not have (day-one) support for Ollama? The previous model is on there? Is it related to the ongoing refactor work or are people abandoning Ollama for other LLM engines?

Well, there are only so many nouns, and even fewer "cool-sounding" ones. For better project differentiation, do you think we should instead be naming things "ZurgGlurg327"? I'm sure you can find a completely-unique combo for each thing, but good luck remembering the name!

I wonder if they started work on this before RAM prices spiked. Not sure how most people expect to be able to afford 128GB of RAM in today's market. Also, one USB-C and one USB-A is pretty minimal connectivity for an otherwise high-powered, wildly-expensive laptop.

For those of us who aren't familiar, what is the difference?

Well, good thing you aren't drinking it then, because the complete lack of electrolytes would kill you far faster than the microplastics. Surely if they can chemically purify the water to chip-making standards they can filter out the microplastics (when they are done with it)? At least one can hope.
