Agree 100%. I generally find Google Meet to be the least bad video conference option (with Teams = Worst).

Command line tools seem to mesh well with AI. Why would they move away?

Some markets, for example, corporate bonds, are mostly on BB chat. They are dealer markets. And dealers will provide “runs” of prices on chat. List of 200 bonds and their prices.

So if you want to trade bonds, need BB as that is where it is happening. Keep in mind some of these bonds trade infrequently (sometimes few times a month).

Having said that, there are more and more bonds trading electronically all the time.

NYS typically ranks 1-10 in states for education. NYC is a big portion of that ranking. Would not be so quick to call NYC education poor. There are pockets of badness but the overall picture isn't bad. I know plenty of people making 7 figures that send their kids to public school in NYC.

Which is fine if you are building tools for financial professionals. It is the aesthetic of choice. And is generally very functional for this purpose.

Forth uses RPN so the "verb" is last.

That is, you provide the data first (I and Forth) and the command (heart) last.

Accounting goes back thousands of years. It was not made as a tool to show off. Lesson is more that tools can be abused for other purposes than intended.

Yes, something seems off. Wonder if "Parking" got lumped into "Garage"?

Type of Building. List of values: 1000 = Parking 1001 = Gas Station Canopy 1002 = Storage Tank 1003 = Placeholder (triangle for permitted bldg) 1004 = Auxiliary Structure (non-addressable, not garage) 1005 = Temporary Structure (e.g. construction trailer) 1006 = Cantilevered Building 2100 = Building 2110 = Skybridge 5100 = Building Under Construction 5110 = Garage

I think you are 100% misunderstanding what they are saying.

They are saying almost no one in Texas can walk to a grocery store. Hence, it is a flex if you can. And Europeans don't understand that it is that unusual.

I suspect it is higher than it was 20 years ago and significantly lower than it was 100 years ago.

"short term greed"

There is a certain amount of capacity to produce memory. They are building new facilities but it takes a long time. They have been burned going down this route many times in the past (e.g., losing money, firms that are no longer in business).

What would you have them do instead?

That isn't "sabotage". Those are export restrictions.

China also runs adverse competitive industrial policies (e.g., industrial spying, flooding markets). Not making value judgment here.

You have quite the post history BTW.

FWIW, what you will see at times in the HF world is a firm will want to get into a strategy and build competing teams. It lights a fire under both. It diversifies the risk. You can select winner and move some people over from loser. And if they both work, they both work.

It isn't a crazy idea if the opportunity is large enough to make the larger investment required worth it.

The problem I see in applying this to products is it can be very confusing for clients.
