Their fairy tale books says animals exist for humans, so good luck changing their minds.

Genesis 9:3 "Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything."

How many times has the economy tanked in the past? How many of those times did we see the same effect?

My last company used S/Mime, but it required a dedicated appliance on both ends and a key server to provide the public key from the sending appliance to the receiving one. It's complicated and not practical for most people, but it worked quite well and is used by some big orgs.

That said, the bigger issue is how messages are stored at rest. Basically all the major email providers support and use TLS at this point, which is plenty strong enough for most mail in transit if you're only worried about the body of the message.

I think we need to worry about mail at rest before trying to make in transit encryption stronger. What's the point of anything stronger than TLS in transit if GMail can just read the full unencrypted message?

Those are not regulated. I think you missed the point.

Though I typically use rsync these days, FTP can be useful for copying files to and from a Linux server when the client is a Windows machine.

I for one would prefer civil rights. The most dangerous people I have ever met were cops. I can protect myself from the individual non-state backed fascist.

I don't think that follows as well as you think.

If the primary goal is survival based primarily on efficient use of energy. A lot of evolution is about organisms becoming more efficient by adapting to their environment. So then keeping unnecessary junk around is inefficient and we would expect orgasms that lose to would benefit and out breed the others.

Why not just use the default instance? I believe it's already filled in (or at least mentioned on the page where you enter one) if you go to their website and follow their links.

We need to do both. Change is coming, no stopping that, but how much change we can effect.

You could just use ZFS. I like butter, and maybe keeping your Metadata on a different raid level helps, but it torched my aray a couple times so I switched and have had no issues.
