I agree with you. I even put my master's degree on pause because I'm very discouraged by learning now. I'm the type that likes to learn things so I can do things with them. Now I can just do things. If I want to learn how those things work, AI can also teach me. There's about as much point in learning coding right now as there is in learning how to use punch cards.

No offense but it is quite clear you don't understand how friendships are forged.

Why do you think friendships are made with strangers on hiking trails?

In my new city, I made a friend by seeing them sitting alone at a restaurant, recognizing their face from somewhere, and chatting with them. We're very close now. They thank me to this day for walking up to them that day as they'd been feeling lonely.

I've also made friends with folks I met playing sports that I hang out with outside that sport. Even the ones that I only see in the sport, that's still a valid friendship.

I'm not trying to flex how social I am because I'm not, I am just saying if you put in some effort you'd be surprised at the results. Most people are more similar than you think, most feel lonely to an extent, you just gotta reach out. You'll never get a rejection in a friendship, imo. And if you do then fuck it they just didn't get along with you.

Someone that gets it. Lots of odd out of touch takes in this thread. Folks here seem to think we're robots or something, I can't believe the wild things that are said in this thread. Strong believer that "humanity" always wins.

You're on hackernews. There's quite a few millionaires on here. I think they'll be okay.

Just go look at any successful millionaire/founder/whatever on LinkedIn. They're still working hard on something. Elon Musk has a freaking trillion dollars yet he still "works".

Why? I actually don't know. I'll let you know once I'm there.

Why do you consider yourself living in a simulation? Not to sound snarky but why don't you go outside and meet people, exercise, play sports, explore nature?

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you haven't extensively used the latest models. You should really play around with them. Give Sonnet 5.5 / Opus 5.5 a shot if you haven't.

I am not a shill, I do not work for any AI company, and I used to think like you.

But I've come to terms with the fact that Sonnet 5.5 does most aspects of my job better than me and faster than me.

It made a mistake? No problem, feed the mistake back to it. I have yet to have it fail when it iterated on its mistakes. All that happens asynchronously in the background and quite rapidly with 5.5.

Which works. That’s the problem. LLMs are now that good. Humans are known to love taking the path of least resistance so you can’t expect people to NOT outsource their thinking, especially at their tedious jobs.

Try googling which country was the only country to use nukes. Hint: it's another nutball country.

There is strong evidence that Iran was not as close to a nuclear weapon as you say.

We will find out the truth eventually, like we found out that the WMDs in Iraq claim was a complete lie.

The problem with what you're saying is there has never been a technology that has the potential to disrupt the workforce at this scale. There is also no clear pathway to "this opens up more jobs". This is not a tool the same way an electric saw is a tool. An electric saw replaces a physical thing that we do (manually sawing), but AI replaces our thinking and intelligence.

Seems like /ru is not the default domain so how do you know Russian is the original?

If Russian is the original I would imagine the site would default to Russian and then /en for English.

AI translation is very different from AI writing though!

That is the problem, syncing isn't the most trivial problem especially for non technical folks. User experience is far superior in a fully managed solution.

They didn't imply the box was at their home and that probability is off

The confusing thing is that googling "google advanced protection program" takes you to the en_in locale, even if you are in the US. An American has no clue what a crore is, so it is just an SEO failure on Google's part, which is funny. I didn't know there was an en_us equivalent to the page when I googled the topic.

I'm pretty much the same. Nothing done before noon. I show up to the office on time just for the sake of it, I then get my work done at night. My manager is okay with it but it is not sustainable, I feel like it takes unnecessary time out of my day. But it is genuinely hard.
